Ikorodu Federal Lawmaker, Rep. Babajimi Benson MHR, on the 7th of October 2023 went on an inspection tour, to ascertain the ongoing construction of Pashoku Road, Aga, and the completion of Akin Ogunlewe Road in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA.
The assessment also touched on the ultra-modern Ita-Elewa youth recreational center, where plans to put forth a facelift on the edifice were disclosed.
Leading the charge, Rep. Benson was accompanied by the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, Dr Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, and the honorable commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mobolaji Ogunlende.
Ongoing Pashoku Aga Road Construction:
The inspection tour began with oversight I the ongoing construction of Pashoku Aga Road, a crucial infrastructure project aimed at improving connectivity in Ikorodu Central.
Rep. Benson expressed his satisfaction in initiating the road construction project, noting that it would have a profound impact on the lives of the people living in the area.
Speaking to Ikorodu News Network (INN), he explained that Pashoku Aga Road construction will propel his commitment towards rural development.
“This road will not only enhance transportation but also spur economic growth and provide better access to social services for the residents of Ikorodu,”
“As leaders, we must continue to listen to our people and deliver the dividend of democracy to them as we promised,” Rep Benson said.
Ita-Elewa Youth Recreational Centre Facelift:
The inspection tour took the federal lawmaker to the Ita-Elewa Youth Recreational Centre situated at the heart of Ikorodu Central.
Facilitated and handed over to the state government in 2022, Rep. Benson insisted that the structure required a minor facelift, which was why he invited the commissioner for youths and social development to notice.
Honorable Mobolaji Ogunlende praised the federal lawmaker for his track record of executing projects, affirming the state’s readiness to ensure the youth center gets the required upgrade it needs.
Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, Dr Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje also lauded Rep. Benson, urging the community to take possession of the structure when enhanced in the area of maintenance.
A large number of youths in the community turned out during the inspection of the central part of the waterbed region, showing support for the federal lawmaker’s strive.
The Completed Akin Ogunlewe Road:
From Aga in Ikorodu central, the inspection team moved on to view the completion of the Akin Ogunlewe Road in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, a project that has long been awaited by the community.
Rep. Benson, representing Ikorodu Division in the House of Representatives, received accolades for his unwavering support in facilitating the completion of the road.
He was received by the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, Bldr Olusesan Daini, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, Mr Taiwo Orenuga, and Hon. Adebimpe Nosimot Akinsola amongst other community stakeholders.
Previewing the established road network, Rep. Benson urged the Igbogbo council chairman to provide barriers for the road to complement the project.
The council boss extolled Rep. Benson, calling him a leader who always listens to the voice of the people.
Subsequently, Dr. Agbaje applauded Rep. Benson, saying, “Rep. Babajimi Benson is a blessing to the people of Ikorodu Division. His dedication to the improvement of our infrastructure is evident in the successful completion of the Akin Ogunlewe Road, which will undoubtedly enhance the quality of life for our constituents.”
Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, affirming the road was named after his father, commended Rep. Benson for staying true to his promises to provide the dividend of democracy to his people.
