The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, expressed his commitment to improving the infrastructure in the region by seeking Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s support for the construction of the Oke-Agbo community road in Igbokuta axis of Ikorodu.
During a special inspection by the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje on the 12th of October 2023, Adesina identified the deteriorating road.
According to the council boss, the road in question holds significant importance as it connects to the bustling Agura-Gberigbe road, and its repair is expected to stimulate economic activities in the area.
Adesina further highlighted the necessity of the road’s reconstruction, citing its crucial role in local transportation and economic development.
Dr Agbaje, after assessing the road’s condition, assured Chairman Adesina that the road would be included in his list of priority projects and that all findings from the inspection would be forwarded to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for further action and support.
The prospects of the road’s construction are not only welcomed by the local population but also hold the promise of enhancing conveyance and economic growth in the region.
The delegation was also joined by Engr. Dankuwo, the Head of Technical, the Centre for Rural Development team, and other staff members from the Ministry of Rural Development provided technical insights and expertise during the inspection.
