CHARLES & MOFE ANOKU, INFIDELITY & IRECONCILABLE DIFFERENCES IN MARRIAGE ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

est130003355616086795 First of its kind to be published on Ikorodu News Network (INN), the ongoing sad tales between two couples living in Oreta axis in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA caught my attention like never before.
The sensitive nature of this tale has taken it to the desk of the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, Under the Ministry of Justice.
This is the story of Charles Anoku and Mofe Anoku, who are both present in a child custody battle and divorce crisis.
Please note that at the time of putting this story together, I had no access to Mrs Mofe Anoku to give attention to her version of the saga.
Charles, actually a coursemate of mine back then in school (Lagos State University) came across each other close to Ladega market road and immediately I observed he was limping towards me with a cane stick.
My good old friend had an accident some days prior, he just completed a printing job and was heading home when we stumbled on each other.
We exchanged pleasantries & at some point, I asked him what he was doing currently, and he told me he was into the printing press business, and he initially wanted to establish a school but ended up shutting it down, plus he's a minister in the Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG).
Returning the same question to me, I told him that I operate Ikorodu News Network (INN), an online news blog that disseminates news, information and events within and outside the Ikorodu division.
He was wowed, and after congratulating me he requested my assistance which I didn't get clarity on until I discussed it further with him.
We further traded courtesies and talked about school and life, he's still the cool, calm and collect guy I knew back then, the only difference was his frail appearance and of course, his visibly swollen left foot which anyone could discern from afar.
I couldn't help but inquired Charles about his health, seeing his condition, and then he took a deep breath and told me it was the same reason he wanted me to put a story together about his current predicament for others to learn.
My friend, Charles and his wife, Mofe had been married in 2011, while still in school, according to him, they were so much in love and things were very much on point as a couple working together to fulfil their destinies.
At some point after rounding up university in 2015 at Isolo local government area of Lagos State, Charles decided to bring his family to Ikorodu, where he already acquired a landed property with his mum and planned to develop it and expand his vision.
They relocated to Oreta axis of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, but today, the story is quite unfortunate from how it started between the couple.
According to Charles, his wife, Mofe left his house in March 2022, with plans never to return to her husband, citing irreconcilable differences. Charles, on the other hand, has also vowed never to allow his wife to return to the marriage, pressing for sole custody of their three kids.
Part 1 ends........

Speaking at a media briefing on Saturday in Lagos, the Special Adviser to the Governor on PPP, Mr. Ope George said the three bidders shortlisted for the RFP Stage II are Mota-Engil (Nigeria & Africa) CCCC & CRBC consort; CGGC-CGC Joint Venture and CCECC & CRCCIG Consortium.
George explained that the fourth mainland bridge project is a Public-Private Partnership transport infrastructure development, which includes the construction and operation of a green field tolled road and bridge with a design speed of 120km/h, including the development of adjacent real estate.
He stated that on completion, the bridge is expected to become the second longest in Africa, featuring three toll plazas, nine interchanges, a 4.5km lagoon bridge and an eco-friendly environment.
“The bridge is expected to span about 37 kilometres, starting from Abraham Adesanya in Ajah, on the Eti-Osa-Lekki-Epe corridor and transverse from the Northwest towards the lagoon shoreline of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway via Owutu/Isawo in Ikorodu”, he added.
The Special Adviser said the idea of constructing the fourth mainland bridge is aimed at reducing severe congestion on the existing Third Mainland Bridge while opening new areas for future development, noting that the project is expected to cost about $2.5 billion.
He informed that the project had gone through the competitive bidding process comprising the Request for Proposal Stage I (RFP I) and the Request for Proposal Stage II (RFP II) which was issued to three shortlisted bidders, namely: Mota-Engil (Nigeria & Africa) CCCC & CRBC consort; CGGC-CGC Joint Venture and CCECC & CRCCIG Consortium.

MASSIVE CAMPAIGN FOR ASIWAJU IN LAGOS, TINUBU URGES NIGERIANS TO PREVENT PDP FROM NATION’S COMMONWEALTH, ASK LAGOSIANS TO RE-ELECT SANWO-OLU ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

393j3jn3n2416455786524379162 The All Progressives Congress Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has called on Nigerians not to allow the Peoples Democratic Party anywhere near the Nigeria’s commonwealth again because of the destruction the party wrought on the country. Tinubu made the call on Saturday in Lagos at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere venue of APC Presidential Campaign’s mega rally where he also recalled how Lagos gave him a chance to deploy his talents for national progress and preservation of progressive politics. “I thank the Almighty Allah and the good people of Lagos State for a place to stand, from which I could deploy my talents to mobilise like-minded Progressives to defend this great city.” The APC Presidential candidate said his party’s campaign is a broom revolution, and invoking the spirit of his late mother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, the Iyaloja-General, he followed up with a folksong, singing in Yoruba, “Dagunro o se je, Tinubu o se pa,” meaning literally that he cannot be killed. Tinubu said he would continue with progressive government where Nigerians will not be forgotten in education, healthcare and employment generation. The former Lagos State Governor, who spoke partly in Yoruba, took a swipe at the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, describing him a veteran aspirant who should go home and rest. “Atiku contested in SDP, he contested in PDP; he contested in ACN when we rescued him from Obasanjo. Now he is contesting again in PDP. He should go home and rest,” adding that Nigerians should never allow him and his party near the country’s commonwealth.” “Atiku has been running. Use your PVC to vote him and his party out. Use your votes to retire him permanently this time. We must never again allow the rapacious and visionless gang of Peoples Destroying People to come near our commonwealth again. They were in government for 16 years, they didn’t remember Badagry Expressway, they didn’t remember East-West Road, they didnt remember 2nd Niger Bridge.” To underscore his support across the country, Tinubu noted that Governors of Kano, Kastina, Kaduna, Kwara, Kebbi and other APC Governors were with him unlike his opponent, who could not hold his party together. Tinubu again used the opportunity of the rally to thank President Muhammadu Buhari for his commitment to the development of Nigeria and Lagos State. “I specially thank President Muhammadu Buhari for the unprecedented Federal support and commitment to Lagos State. We have come a long way from Presidents whose sole obsession was to capture or conquer Lagos in do-or-die fashion, to a President who loves the state greatly and is keen to see it do very well.” “Lagos has benefited tremendously in terms of infrastructure development, whether it is the Lagos-Ibadan Railway line, or the Apapa-Oshodi-Oworonsoki Expressway, the revamped National Theatre, the new International Airport Terminal or the support that has made the Lekki Deep Sea Port possible and the Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Plant, as well as the Red Line of the Lagos Metro, which is sharing part of the Federal corridor,” he said. Addressing the massive rally on the importance of sustaining the progressive governance in Lagos State, Tinubu urged Lagosians to vote for Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu and his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, for second term. “Dear Lagosians, my appeal to you today, is to ask you to renew the mandate of Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat for another 4 years. Do not let the execution and implementation of the bold vision of more than two decades be aborted or suspended.” For the stability of Lagos State, Asiwaju Tinubu called on the youths and students to vote for Sanwo-Olu and Hamzat. “The lives of over 22 million people are too important to be subjected to tragic experiments in the hands of kindergarten politicians. Babajide Sanwo-olu and Obafemi Hamzat have been schooled in the finest tradition of people-management and development planning.” Present at the rally were the party’s National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Vice Presidential Candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima, and Chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum and Governor of Kebbi, Atiku Bagudu. Others included the Director-General of the Tinubu/Shettima Campaigns and Governor of Plateau State, Hon. Simon Bako Lalong, as well as Governors Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano), Aminu Bello Masari (Katsina), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Adegboyega Oyetola (Osun), Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa), Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq and Abiodun Oyebanji (Ekiti). Also present were Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Sunday Dare, former Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi. There were also members of the APC National Working Committee, National Assembly members and Ministers. Welcoming the dignitaries and people of Lagos, Governor Sanwo-olu thanked Asíwájú for the foundation he laid in the state and the legacies he left behind as governor, saying he is the right man for the presidency in 2023. Governor Bagudu who spoke on behalf of the 22 APC Governors thanked the Lagos governor for the successful rally. “Our party leadership and governors believe in Asíwájú and for the right reasons. The world economy has been challenged, Nigeria inclusive. We need someone of Asíwájú’s standing and pedigree to take over to help the country wade through,” he said. Speaker Gbajabiamila commended Asíwájú for his investment in human capacity, saying he has developed more people than any others. “There is a lot to be said about Asíwájú. He is the most investigated Nigerian and nothing has been found against him.” The DG of the campaigns, Hon. Lalong said Asíwájú Tinubu has the character and capacity to lead Nigeria and ensure equity and justice to all parts of the country, adding that with Asíwájú and Shettima, Nigerians would have no cause to regret.

SANWO-OLU: LAGOS RECORDS LOWEST ROBBERY INCIDENTS IN DECADES ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

fb img 1669402303371637039785263460401 For the third consecutive year, Lagos State has recorded no single case of armed robbery attacks on banks and other financial institutions operating within its boundary. The development hinted a significant improvement in security surveillance and the sustainability of measures adopted in checking organised crimes. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Thursday, shared the progress with stakeholders in the security circle and private sector donors at the 16th Town Hall Meeting on security organised by the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) at Civic Centre in Victoria Island.
Sanwo-Olu said his administration adopted a technology-driven strategy that enabled the security agencies respond proactively ahead of potential breaches at vulnerable spots, including a web of undercover operations to frustrate armed attacks on possible targets. This, he said, has bolstered the confidence of the financial institutions to freely move their cash around the State with limited risks.
The Governor said the collaborative security approach had yielded significant results in crime fighting, leading to a sharp reduction in rate of criminality across Lagos.
In the last 12 months, the State recorded only 21 incidents of armed robbery - the lowest rate in the last decades. From last year November till date, the police and combined team of security agencies have foiled 149 armed robbery attempts across communities. Sanwo-Olu said the State had not only boosted the morale of the security personnel with constant training and provision of equipment, but had also raised its capacity to contain emerging threats.
He said: “As a Government, our approach to security is holistic and collaborative. Our security policy is driven by the need to engender a wholly secure environment that enables the wellbeing, prosperity and fulfilment of all the residents. We consider no amount of investment too big to be put forward in ensuring the progress we have achieved since inception is sustained. In the last three and a half years, we have continued to maintain the record of zero incident of robbery attack on banks or any other financial institution operating in our State.
“LSSTF has been at the forefront of these security efforts. Through the agency, we have continued to provide interventions to the police and other security agencies operating in Lagos in the areas that include operational capacity, training and logistics. Our efforts have yielded encouraging results in crime fighting, as Lagos remains largely safe for business and living. This relative peace and safety that we have been experiencing in this massive mega city will not be compromised. We will continue to strengthen the security operation to ensure the progress recorded is not reversed.”
Next week, the Governor said Divisional Police formations will get 25 new pick-up trucks to assist in quick response to security threats in their areas of operation. Sanwo-Olu said the State Government’s intention to employ digital surveillance in combating emerging crimes had started to take shape, given the phased rollout of technology tools, including high-definition cameras to monitor strategic locations across the State.
The Governor sent a loud warning to criminals still operating in Lagos to vacate the State before the law caught up with them. He pledged not to spare any effort in making the State unsafe and inhabitable for criminals.
Provision of security, Sanwo-Olu said, should not be seen as a one-way process, urging residents to collaborate and provide information to security agencies whenever they notice suspicious activities within their communities.
He said: “I am sending a strong and loud message to all purveyors of crime and criminality in Lagos. We will stay ahead of your intentions and actions, and we will fight you with everything we have. There will be no room for actions that undermine our well-being and our capacity to achieve our dreams and aspirations.”
The Governor said the LSSTF model adopted by the State in raising security standards had been effective, urging private sector donors to contribute their quota for the sustainability of the Fund.
LSSTF Executive Secretary, Dr. Abdur -Razaq Balogun, noted that the constraints necessitating the establishment of the Fund were far from being fully addressed, but said there was no alternative to the resource model in scaling up security response. Since 2019, Balogun said LSSTF had provided 240 units of fully equipped operational vehicles to all security agencies in Lagos, in addition to provision of 230 units of motorbikes and security accessories, including 100 digital walkie-talkie, 167 cellular communication gadgets, 2,000 units of Level 4 bulletproof vests and ballistic helmets, among others.
Despite the successes achieved in the year, the LSSTF boss said the Fund had received the lowest public donation to the tune of N153 million, representing 6.3 per cent of public donations received in 2021.
Appealing for more funding from the private sector, Balogun said: “The necessity for crime-fighting agencies is continuous, as we must accept that crimes are still with us. As this is an election period, political violence is another clear danger we are facing. There is need to raise the capabilities of our security agencies to contain these threats as we approach general elections.” Reviewing of crime report between November 2021 till date, Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, said Lagos Police Command arrested 146 armed robbers in 149 foiled attempts. In the same year, Lagos recorded 52 cases of cultism-related attack, with 240 suspected cultists arrested and charged.
The police chief disclosed that 89 high-grade arms and 376 assorted ammunitions were recovered, while 280 dangerous weapons, including cudgels, were seized from criminals.
Alabi said: “In the period under review, Lagos Police Command recorded a remarkable feat in crime fighting when we began checkmating the activities of commercial motorcycle riders, following Mr. Governor’s proscription of Okada in the State. Crimes being committed using motorcycles have reduced. Out of 8,105 Okadas we impounded from last year, 4,815 were seized between June and September 2022.”
The Commissioner appreciated the Governor for material and logistic support rendered to the State Police Command, assuring that his men would not rest on their oars towards ensuring peace and safety in Lagos.

For the third consecutive year, Lagos State has recorded no single case of armed robbery attacks on banks and other financial institutions operating within its boundary. The development hinted a significant improvement in security surveillance and the sustainability of measures adopted in

SANWO-OLU SEEKS STATE GOVERNMENT’S INPUT IN ELECTRICITY BILL AS LASG, USAID PARTNER TO BOLSTER ENERGY FOR LAGOS RESIDENTS ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

fb img 16693005257404417158983821610619 Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday appealed to members of the House of Representatives to allow input of sub-national governments in the Electricity Bill 2022 to unbundle knotty issues surrounding generation, transmission and distribution of power in Nigeria.
Governor Sanwo-Olu made the appeal at Lagos House, Ikeja during the handover ceremony to celebrate the completion of the Lagos State Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) to bolster the overall energy security for residents, which was commissioned in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development USAID, and Power Africa as part of the Nigeria Power Sector Programme, PA-NPSP.
The Integrated Resource Plan serves as a roadmap and blueprint to improve sector planning and coordination while providing guidance on Lagos State energy development requirements to stakeholders, including federal and state agencies, regulators, power generators, electricity transmitters and distributors, investors, and consumers.
The Integrated Resource Plan will improve sector planning and coordination to provide stable and sustainable energy to all citizens and businesses. The Plan will also outline resource development plans for the next 20 years to meet the long-term electricity needs of the State’s residents, businesses, industries, and public/government premises such as hospitals and health clinics. The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Power Africa Nigeria Power Sector Programme, in partnership with the Government of Lagos State developed the plan.
Speaking at the event, Governor Sanwo-Olu who disclosed that Lagos is the first State to come up with IRP initiative noted that despite privatisation, a lot more is needed to be done in the power sector and it will be better for each State to identify and proffer solutions to their peculiar power needs. He said: "There has been some form of privatisation but we still need a lot more. There is a bill that is currently with the National Assembly, specifically in the House of Representatives that we need to make a big case about. We want our input in the bill. We want the members of the House of Representatives to call sub-national; states so that we can have proper input into the bill and finally unbundle all of the bottlenecks in the power sector.
"We can sit down together and bring about a bill that is bankable; a bill that will help private sector funding and financing in today's sector and a bill in which everybody can move at their pace; every location can actually analyse what their demands are and what their future demands would be. This kind of bill will help all of us do a good job of our worth."
Governor Sanwo-Olu also urged stakeholders, including the top officials of Ikeja electric and Eko Disco who were at the handing-over ceremony not to leave the document on the shelf.
"We can indeed make this economy work for our people. We can make it work for small and medium businesses and cooperate to have access to their power need. It is only when we do that that we will trickle-fold the GDP of this State and of course by extension, the GDP of this country. "I want to say to every member that this is a job cut out, we cannot go to sleep. This document should not just stay on our shelf, it is something that we need to analyse and digest," the Governor said. The United States Consul-General, Lagos, Mr. Williams Stevens, in his address described electricity as the basis of economic growth, trade and investments, adding that the United States government is excited to partner with Lagos State.
“The U.S. government is committed to expanding and supporting the modernization of Lagos’s energy sector, building a foundation for broad and inclusive economic and social development. This Integrated Resource Plan is a concrete testament to the partnership between the United States and Lagos State as we both work together to create a sustainable and equitable future,” he said.
Speaking earlier, Lagos State Commissioner for Energy, Mr. Olalere Odusote, described the IRP as a milestone, which will gradually take Lagos distribution away from the national grid.

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday appealed to members of the House of Representatives to allow input of sub-national governments in the Electricity Bill 2022 to unbundle knotty issues surrounding generation, transmission and distribution of power in Nigeria.
