In a bid to promote intellectual development and academic excellence among primary school students, Ikorodu Local Government has partnered with the Ikorodu News Network (INN) to organize the Academic Sharpmind Competition.

This intellectual program encompasses quizzes, debates, and spelling bees, providing a platform for young minds to showcase their talents.

The event which is taking place at the prestigious Ikorodu Local Government Secretariat Hall on December 5th, 2023, with the grand finale scheduled for December 12th, 2023.

A total of 32 students from 16 primary schools across Ikorodu Local Government are poised to engage in friendly yet competitive battles of wits.

The competition aims to identify and celebrate the best and brightest young minds in the region, fostering a spirit of healthy competition and camaraderie among students.

The three top performers emerging from the competition will be crowned as the ultimate winners, marking a significant achievement in their academic journey.

Hon. Wasiu Adesina, the executive chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, expressed his wholehearted support for the program. He emphasized his goal of harnessing the exceptional intellectual abilities within the region through such academic initiatives.

“As a gesture of encouragement and acknowledgment, special prizes are slated to be presented to the outstanding students who demonstrate exceptional skills and knowledge during the competition”.
