WINNERS SHINE AT INAUGURAL ‘ACADEMIC SHARPMIND’ HOSTED BY IKORODU LOCAL GOVERNMENT IN COLLABORATION WITH IKORODU NEWS NETWORK ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

Displaying intellectual prowess, young scholars triumphed at the maiden edition of ACADEMIC SHARPMIND, a competition hosted by Ikorodu Local Government in collaboration with the esteemed Ikorodu News Network.

The event, held on the 5th of December 2023, featured three challenging stages encompassing current affairs questions and answers, quiz sessions, and intense spelling bees. The culmination of the competition saw promising students earning coveted slots in the grand finale.

Anglican Primary School emerged triumphant, securing the 1st position, while Community Primary School claimed a commendable 2nd position. Ijomu Muslim Primary School clinched the 3rd position, showcasing their dedication to academic excellence.

Mr. Deji, the Head of Education in Ikorodu Local Government, announced the finalists and congratulated the pupils on their outstanding performances.

He emphasized that those who did not win should be seen as participants and not losers, encouraging them to continue their academic journey.

Representatives of the teaching community present applauded the program for its transparent and engaging methods, acknowledging its role in identifying and nurturing the brightest young minds.

They commended Hon. Wasiu Adesina, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, for his commitment to enhancing the educational sector in Ikorodu.

The event received extensive coverage from the renowned media agency, Ikorodu News Network (INN), further highlighting the significance of ACADEMIC SHARPMIND in promoting education within the local community.

The grand finale and prize-giving day are scheduled to take place on the 12th of December 2023 at the council’s secretariat, (according to the council chairman, Hon. Wasiu Adesina) promising to be a celebration of academic excellence and a testament to the commitment of Ikorodu Local Government to educational development.
