EWEYE DAY 2023 GRAND FINALE MARKS A TRIUMPH OF UNITY AND PROGRESS IN ISIU ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

The Eweye Day 2023 celebration reached its zenith in a grand finale attended by a distinguished gathering of dignitaries, leaders, groups, and community figures.

Among the prominent attendees were Sen. Tokunbo Abiru, represented by Dr. Saheed Ibikunle, Dr. Nurudeen Agbaje, Builder Sesan Daini, Hon. Ola Ameen, and several traditional rulers including Oba Semiudeen Kasali, Oba Bashir Shotonwa, and Oba Moruf Olakunle Ogunnoiki.

Otunba Musa Afolagbade Banwo, Chairman of Isiu Eweye Development Association (ISEDASS), expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts that contributed to the event’s success.

He commended the unity between the young and old, emphasizing the community’s commitment and tireless work towards common goals.

Chairman Banwo acknowledged the support of Sen. Tokunbo Abiru, Hon. (Bldr) Adebisi Adeola Banjo, and Supervisor for Agric, Hon. Wale Ogunbela.

He extended appreciation to the elders, leaders, and youth groups, particularly highlighting the Isiu Youth Development Movement (IYDM) for their pivotal role in the celebration’s 37-year history.

In a spirit of appreciation, Banwo thanked religious leaders, executives of ISEDASS, and committee members for their dedication.

He attributed the success of the event to the collaborative efforts of various groups, echoing the Yoruba adage, “Bi omode ba dupe ore ana, a riomiran gba” (When a child appreciates a favor, he attracts more).

HRM Oba Olukayode David Raji welcomed attendees to the 37th Eweye Day 2023 Celebration, emphasizing the community’s progress and collective efforts.

He acknowledged ongoing challenges but expressed joy at overcoming them gradually.

Oba Raji recognized the Isiu Eweye Development Association for their ingenuity and support, making the 2023 edition a success.

He appreciated Hon. Babajimi Benson, Sen. Tokunbo Abiru, and Hon. Adeola Adebisi Banjo for their contributions to community development, including the construction of a modern market and infrastructure projects.

The monarch congratulated awardees, Princess Dr. R.U. Mku Atu, Chief Samuel Otiko Caka Olowora, and Chief Babatunde Samson Ogunberu, for their impactful projects.

Special guests of honor, including High Chief Ogunsayo Wakeel Adewunmi Adedeji (SAN), were also recognized.

The ceremony included the presentation of awards to dignitaries who contributed significantly to community development.

Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson commissioned the Isiu Ultra Modern Market, facilitated by the lawmaker, marking a milestone for Isiu town.

Alhaji Taiwo Odumbo, Chairman of the Education Committee, presented prizes to winners of educational programs held during the celebration, highlighting the community’s commitment to holistic development.

The grand finale concluded with a sense of achievement, unity, and appreciation, reflecting the collective spirit that defines Eweye Day in Isiu.
