Commemorating the first year of the reign of Alagura of Agura, Oba Moruf Ahmed Ogunnaike Ogunderu, the event took a significant turn as former Lagos State Head of Service Commission Boss, Alhaji Babatunde Tajudeen Rotinwa, painted a vivid picture of Agura Kingdom’s potential as the future Victoria Island of Ikorodu.

Rotinwa, also the President of the Exclusive Club Ikorodu, serving as the distinguished chairman of the anniversary occasion dated 20th of January 2024, delivered a thought-provoking speech highlighting Agura’s strategic position and its proximity to the waterbed as pivotal factors that could shape its promising future.

The event, attended by dignitaries and community members alike, became a platform for Rotinwa to advocate for proactive measures to secure Agura’s growth.

The former Head of Service chairman appealed to the Lagos State Government, urging them to generate a comprehensive town planning schematic for the Agura community.

Rotinwa emphasized that such planning is crucial to ward off opportunists who might seek to take advantage of the region’s untapped potential.

“Agura’s strategic location and natural features make it a prime candidate for sustainable development. Proper planning is our shield against those who may exploit it for short-term gains,” Rotinwa passionately expressed during his speech.

Rotinwa went on to stress the importance of collective responsibility in driving development across various sectors within Agura Kingdom.

He called on responsible stakeholders to actively engage in initiatives that would contribute to the growth and progress of the region.

Directing his appeal to the sons and daughters of Agura within and in diaspora, Rotinwa urged collaboration with the reigning king, Oba Moruf Ahmed Ogunnaike Ogunderu, to expedite the rapid development of the kingdom.

This call for unity and collaboration echoed throughout the gathering, resonating with the community’s aspirations for a brighter future.

In a forward-looking move, Rotinwa proposed the establishment of a committee under the king’s leadership.

This committee, according to Rotinwa, would actively work towards attracting investors, fostering collaborative efforts, and accelerating the overall development of Agura Kingdom.

The visionary call for strategic planning, community engagement, and investment collaboration encapsulates Rotinwa’s vision for Agura Kingdom—a vision that resonates with the collective desire for sustained growth and prosperity in this promising region.

“As Agura marks its one-year milestone under the reign of Oba Moruf Ahmed Ogunnaike Ogunderu, the community stands at the cusp of a transformative journey towards becoming the Victoria Island of Ikorodu” Rotinwa concluded.
