In an exclusive interview with Ikorodu News Network (INN) on January 27, 2024, Bishop Festus Otusanya Omomajemu, the youngest Bishop and general overseer of True Covenant Church of God, expressed concern over the current state of the Nigerian economy.

The Bishop emphasized the urgent need for the government to address the economic challenges faced by the citizens.

Highlighting the impact of foreign exchange rates on the economic predicament, Bishop Omomajemu stressed that the people of Nigeria are facing increased hardships, forcing them to work extra hard to provide for themselves and their families.

“The desperation of the youths has led to a sudden increase in crime this year, and something must be done fast,” said Bishop Omomajemu.

He called on the government to provide timely solutions to stabilize the economy and prevent further undesirable circumstances.

While acknowledging that the current administration is relatively new in office, Bishop Omomajemu urged the government to demonstrate proactive efforts and ensure that the functionalities reflect positive signs for the masses.

He emphasized the importance of swift actions to instill hope in the citizens.

In a direct appeal to the government, the Bishop also urged caution in selecting candidates for key positions, citing the ongoing scandal involving the former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs.

He stressed the need for vigilance to maintain integrity within the government.

Bishop Festus Omomajemu’s plea serves as a call to action for Nigerian leaders to prioritize and expedite measures aimed at reviving the economy and alleviating the suffering of the people.
