The Executive Chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Builder Sesan Daini, has voiced the urgent need for media platforms across Nigeria to prioritize the creation of message-driven content aimed at informing citizens about the current state of the nation and the ongoing rebuilding process.

Bldr Daini made this assertion during a significant meeting held at the council Secretariat on March 18, 2024, with Mr. Adedayo Longe, the CEO of DLong Media.

Expressing his dissatisfaction with the performance of media agencies in Nigeria, particularly in the realm of informing citizens about government policies aimed at revitalizing the nation’s economy, Daini emphasized the crucial role that media plays in shaping public understanding and perception.

He lamented the lack of comprehensive content that effectively communicates the present situation and the trajectory toward economic recovery.

“Nigerians are not being properly carried along by our media platforms, despite the efforts of the current administration,” Daini remarked, underscoring the importance of transparent and informative communication channels to foster understanding and support for governmental initiatives.

During the meeting, which aimed to foster collaboration between the council and DLong Media, Daini outlined plans to empower youths by leveraging multimedia platforms to educate them about career opportunities in the media sector.

The council chairman emphasized the need for effective mediums that would engage and empower young Nigerians to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s development.

In response to Daini’s concerns, Mr. Adedayo Longe echoed similar sentiments regarding the lack of substantive messaging in the media sector regarding government projections and policies.

He highlighted DLong Media’s commitment to driving its platform towards educating Nigerians about progressive news and information, emphasizing the role of media agencies in shaping public discourse and promoting accountability.

Furthermore, Longe underscored the importance of collaboration between media organizations and local government entities, emphasizing the need to empower youths through training and mentorship programs in media and content creation.

He reiterated DLong Media’s dedication to working closely with LG/LCDAs across the state to facilitate youth development initiatives and promote media literacy.

The meeting between Builder Sesan Daini and Mr. Adedayo Longe signified a crucial step towards fostering collaboration between government and media stakeholders to address the information gap and empower Nigerian youths in the multimedia sector.
