Displaying appreciation and recognition, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, presented a brand new Toyota Tacoma truck to the departing Council Manager, Engr. Martins Odupitan.
The presentation took place during a retirement get-together event held on March 26th, 2024, to bid farewell to Engr. Odupitan and the council’s Human Resources Manager, Mr. Olabode Adebola.
The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the moment when Chairman Adesina handed over the keys of the sleek vehicle to Engr. Odupitan, citing his unwavering dedication and service to the local government.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman Adesina emphasized the importance of acknowledging and celebrating exemplary service, stating that it was only fitting to recognize Engr. Odupitan’s remarkable contributions to the growth and development of the council during his tenure.
“Engr. Odupitan has left an indelible mark on our local government, and it is with immense gratitude that we present him with this token of appreciation,” remarked Chairman Adesina.
He further urged the council staff to emulate the leadership qualities and work ethic demonstrated by the outgoing Council Manager, emphasizing that hard work and dedication ultimately lead to a fulfilling life.
The presentation ceremony was attended by council staff, including the Vice Chairman, Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba, Secretary to the Council, Alhaji Lateef Afinni, Leader of the council’s Legislative chamber, Hon. Adebowale Adebola, Deputy Leader, Hon. Mutiat Fatuga and other council officials.
Additionally, the family of Engr. Odupitan, including his wife and children, were present to witness the touching tribute to their beloved patriarch, on a day which also doubled as his 60th birthday.
“The gesture of presenting a car gift symbolizes not only the council’s appreciation for Engr. Odupitan’s service but also serves as a testament to the value placed on dedicated public servants within Ikorodu Local Government”.
