
Residents of Onaselu Flourish Orebanjo Community Development Association (CDA) in Gberigbe, under Ward G of Ikorodu Central, have reason to celebrate as the local government has undertaken the repair and renovation of a damaged borehole, addressing longstanding water supply challenges in the area.
Led by the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, a team comprising key officials, including Vice Chairman Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba, Secretary to the Council Alhaji Lateef Afinni, and other dignitaries, made a significant visit to the community on Thursday, April 18, 2024.
Their presence signified a commitment to improving the living standards of residents.
During the visit, Mr. Olufemi Abayomi, Vice Chairman of Flourish CDA, highlighted the community’s struggle with inadequate water supply over the past 12 years, expressing gratitude for the intervention by the council chairman.
Chief Sunday Ajayi-Akinrogun, along with other stakeholders, also welcomed the initiative, emphasizing the importance of sustainable water access for residents.
The Executive chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina acknowledged the community’s patience and emphasized the council’s proactive stance in addressing critical needs like water supply.
He urged both the CDA and residents to collaborate in maintaining the water system for its longevity.
The councillor representing Ward G, Hon. Dimeji Sotonwa, commended the chairman’s dedication to grassroots development despite budget constraints.
He echoed the call for community involvement in preserving the water infrastructure.

Following the successful renovation at Onaselu Flourish Orebanjo CDA, Hon. Adesina proceeded to Eleshin Area, another community within Ward G, to commission a new borehole project.
The initiative, strategically located near the bustling Eleshin market, garnered praise from residents who lauded the government’s commitment to enhancing livelihoods.
In his address, Hon. Adesina emphasized the significance of accessible water supply in improving quality of life, reassuring residents of continued government support amid economic recovery efforts.
Chief Muse Agbaku of Eleshin Family commended the chairman’s efforts in delivering tangible benefits to the grassroots and urged him to sustain the positive impact.
Before the commissioning ceremony, the market Iya-Oloja and Hon. Dimeji Sotonwa, alongside other community members, expressed appreciation for Hon. Wasiu Adesina’s unwavering support.
Speaking to Ikorodu News Network (INN), residents explained that the borehole renovation and commissioning projects signify a step towards addressing essential needs and fostering community development under the leadership of the Ikorodu Local Government.
