
The Liaison Group Eminent Persons of Ikorodu Division (EPID) honoured Dr Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, in a grand ceremony held at Ikorodu Ultra-Modern Town Hall.
The event, which also served as the Ikorodu Division General Assembly, witnessed the presence of numerous dignitaries and traditional rulers from across Ikorodu division.
Prominent attendees included the paramount ruler of the region, HRM, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, Ayangbure of Ikorodu, the Ranodu of Imota, HRM, Oba Ajibade Mudashiru Bakare-Agoro, and the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, the Eweye of Isiu, HRM, Oba David Raji Kayode and HRM Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, along with other traditional heads.
The elegant ceremony demonstrated the collective pride and achievements of Ikorodu division, showcasing the community’s commitment to recognizing and celebrating outstanding leadership and service.
Dr. Agbaje was recognized for his exceptional leadership and dedication to Rural Development.
The award was presented by Dr. Frederic Abimbola Oladeinde, former Lagos Commissioner for Transportation, to Hon. Adebowale Adebola, Leader of the Legislative Chamber in Ikorodu Local Government, who represented Dr. Agbaje at the event.
During the presentation, Dr. Oladeinde highlighted Dr. Agbaje’s remarkable contributions since taking office, emphasizing his passion for achieving tangible results and his commitment to the development of the Ikorodu division.
He praised Dr Agbaje for making his community proud through his diligent work in the Rural Development office.
Hon. Adebowale, speaking on behalf of Dr. Agbaje, expressed gratitude to the organizers for the recognition, stating that the award would serve as a motivation for Dr. Agbaje to continue his dedicated service.
He affirmed that the honour reflects the collective efforts and achievements of the people of Ikorodu.
In addition to Dr. Agbaje, other notable figures were also honored at the event.
Lagos East Senatorial District’s Senator Tokunbo Abiru and Ikorodu federal lawmaker, Rep. Babajimi Benson MHR, were among the recipients, applauded for their significant contributions to the success and progress of Ikorodu indigenes.
