On the 8th of June 2024, Ikorodu federal lawmaker Rep. Babajimi Benson MHR, accompanied by APC party State Chairman, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, and other dignitaries inspected the ongoing construction of the 13km Oreta-Offin road in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA.
The Oreta-Offin road, strategically located close to Lagos Island and part of Eti-Osa, is expected to significantly enhance developmental and economic prospects upon completion.
Upon arrival, Rep. Benson and his delegation were warmly received by the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, Bldr Sesan Daini, who provided detailed updates on the progress of the construction.
Construction on the road, slated for completion within one year, commenced three months prior to the inspection date.
Speaking to Ikorodu News Network (INN), Bldr Daini revealed that the presence of the APC State Chairman alongside Rep. Benson demonstrated the party’s appreciation for the impactful projects being spearheaded by its representatives.
Rep. Benson’s track record includes facilitating the construction of 57 roads within Ikorodu division, a feat that has earned him a commendation from various quarters.
During the inspection, Rep. Benson urged the contractors to expedite the construction process while ensuring minimal disruption to residents.
He also emphasized the importance of creating employment opportunities for local youths, thereby contributing to the reduction of unemployment in the area.
In his remarks, Bldr Daini expressed gratitude to Rep. Benson for his steadfast commitment to the development of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA.
He detailed Rep. Benson’s multifaceted interventions in healthcare, education, youth empowerment, feeding programs, and security, reflecting his dedication to improving the welfare of constituents.
Bldr Daini concluded by thanking the residents of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA for their continued support for the present administration, characterizing the current state of the economy as a phase of “reengineering.”
He expressed confidence in the All Progressive Congress (APC) and its commitment to fulfilling electoral promises, envisioning a prosperous future for Nigeria under the party’s leadership.
