Hon. Adebowale Adebola Ajayi, the Council Leader of Ikorodu LGA and Chairman of the Ikorodu Division Councillors Forum, has addressed and debunked a viral video depicting a dispute in the Ikorodu West LCDA Secretariat.
According to Hon. Adebowale, in a message to Ikorodu NewsNetwork (INN) on sunday, the 7th of July 2024, the video in question is outdated, showing an incident that occurred two years ago.
“The scenario in the video happened between the legislators due to misunderstandings and disputes within the house,” Hon. Adebowale stated.
“As soon as we were informed about it, the Ikorodu Division Councillors Forum intervened. We arrived at the local government in numbers to resolve the differences, which were immediately settled.”
Hon. Adebowale emphasized that since the resolution, relationships within the legislative body and between the legislative and executive branches have significantly improved.
“The Leader of the House of Ikorodu West and the Deputy Leader are now best of friends,” he added.
He attributed the resurfacing of the old video to political desperation, dismissing its relevance to the current harmonious state of affairs.
“The purported old circulating video was posted because of political desperation,” Hon. Adebowale remarked.
The Ikorodu Councillors Forum, Hon. Adebowale highlighted, is committed to maintaining peace, harmonious relationships, and synergy among its members to foster development across various local governments.
The forum focuses on sponsoring laws beneficial to local communities and advocates for dialogue and peaceful working relationships with the executive branch instead of resorting to violence.
“We stand for peace and harmonious relationships, aiming to foster development in our various local governments. We choose dialogue and peace over violence,” Hon. Adebowale concluded.
