
On September 16, 2024, the Igbogbo Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) reached a significant milestone with the commissioning of its state-of-the-art Legislative and Administrative Complex.
The event presided over by Ikorodu Federal Lawmaker, Rep. Babajimi Benson MHR demonstrated the council’s dedication to advancing local governance and infrastructure.
During the ceremony, Executive Chairman Bldr. Sesan Daini delivered an impactful speech highlighting the importance of the project and its role in the continued development of the community.
Bldr. Daini opened his remarks by reflecting on the long road to completion, stating, “Today, September 16, 2024, is a remarkable day as we inaugurate this magnificent legislative and administrative building. After more than seven years of persistent efforts, we have reached another milestone, fulfilling a key promise to our people.”
He went on to describe the new building as a manifestation of the administration’s unwavering focus on improving governance and service delivery for the LCDA.
The newly commissioned complex features a 54-seater legislative chamber, five councillors’ offices, a clerk’s office, offices for three department heads, and 30 workstation spaces.
The facility is fully equipped with 15 modern toilets and 17 air-conditioning units. Daini emphasized that these modern amenities will create a conducive environment for legislative and administrative operations, thereby promoting collaboration, innovation, and progress.
He also lauded the project’s rapid completion, explaining that although the building was originally scheduled to be completed in 12 months, the council delivered it in just six months.
Daini attributed this accomplishment to the administration’s emphasis on efficiency and effectiveness, saying, “This project was awarded for completion in 12 months, but through determination and hard work, we delivered it in just six months. This stands as proof of our commitment to efficiency, effectiveness, and excellence.”
As his second term nears its conclusion, Bldr. Daini expressed pride in the new complex as a lasting symbol of his administration’s achievements.
“As we round off our second term in office, this building stands as one of the legacies of our administration’s efforts. We have worked relentlessly to enhance the lives of our citizens, and this complex will serve as a hub for our ongoing initiatives.”
Bldr. Daini also extended his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the project, acknowledging their dedication and perseverance.
He called upon the community to utilize the new building as a foundation for further progress, urging, “Let us continue to collaborate, using this structure as a springboard for growth, innovation, and advancement.”
The commissioning of this modern facility is poised to greatly enhance the legislative and administrative functions of the Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, further empowering the council to serve the community and contribute to the area’s development.
Bldr. Daini and his administration, through this feat, reaffirmed their commitment to leaving a lasting legacy for the people of Igbogbo Baiyeku.
