IJEDE LCDA CHAIRMAN, MOTUNRAYO GBADEBO-ALOGBA, APPOINTED AS STOP TUBERCULOSIS AMBASSADOR BY MRS. IBIJOKE SANWO-OLU ~ INN Nigeria ☆

Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, the Executive Chairman of Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), alongside her female colleagues, was officially inaugurated as an Ambassador of the Stop Tuberculosis (TB) campaign in Lagos State on the 8th of October 2024.

The prestigious event, held at the Banquet Hall in Lagos, was led by the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. (Mrs) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, who recognized their dedication to the public health mission of eradicating tuberculosis across the state.

During the ceremony, the First Lady appointed several female local government chairpersons, including Hon. Gbadebo-Alogba, as ambassadors tasked with raising awareness about the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of TB.

The event also saw the inauguration of wives of local government chairmen as community champions, further expanding the network of Stop TB advocates in the state’s grassroots communities.

Hon. Gbadebo-Alogba expressed her deep gratitude for the opportunity to play a critical role in the fight against tuberculosis.

As a passionate advocate for the Stop TB campaign, she committed to intensifying public education efforts within Ijede LCDA, promoting early detection, and ensuring access to quality healthcare.

In her address, she emphasized the importance of partnerships between local leaders, health practitioners, and stakeholders to implement policies aimed at a TB-free Lagos.

Hon. Gbadebo-Alogba lauded Dr. (Mrs) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu for her unwavering support and leadership in the Stop TB initiative, which has already seen remarkable progress in awareness and treatment programs across the state.

“Together, we will work to strengthen efforts to combat this deadly disease, ensuring that our communities receive the education and healthcare necessary to achieve a TB-free society,” Hon. Gbadebo-Alogba said in her concluding remarks.
