LAGOS GAC DELEGATION APPLAUDS BLDR BANJO’S LEADERSHIP DURING IKORODU NORTH VISIT ~ INN Nigeria ☆

On November 12, 2024, a high-ranking delegation from Lagos State’s Governance Advisory Council (GAC), led by Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, visited Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA) to assess governance progress under the leadership of Bldr Adeola Adebisi Banjo, the Executive Chairman.

The purpose of the visit was to review the council’s efforts in addressing residents’ needs and fostering good governance in the region.

The delegation, warmly received by Bldr Banjo at the Ikorodu North LCDA Secretariat, engaged with key stakeholders, including representatives from youth organizations, the Christian Association of Nigeria (Ikorodu North chapter), Islamic leadership, community leaders (Baales), and security agencies.

Each group provided feedback on Bldr Banjo’s administration, with many commending his commitment to effective governance and community development.

Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman Prince Adeniran Ogunbamwo praised Bldr Banjo’s dedication to serving the community, emphasizing that additional funding would enable the council to accomplish even more for residents.

HRM Oba Olukayode David Raji, the Eweye of Isiu, also expressed his approval of the council’s progress.

He noted that since ascending as the paramount ruler, he has observed positive changes under Bldr Banjo’s administration.

Oba Raji urged the GAC to ensure that Ikorodu North continues to benefit from democratic governance, especially given the region’s electoral significance.

Following these discussions, the GAC delegation embarked on an inspection tour to evaluate the council’s achievements firsthand.

They visited the council’s new state-of-the-art complex, which includes a legislative chamber, offices, a customary court, a multipurpose hall, and a new secretariat chapel.

The new secretariat complex was named in honour of former Lagos State Deputy Governor Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, while the multipurpose hall was dedicated to Rep. Babajimi Benson, MHR, a federal lawmaker representing Ikorodu.

Speaking to Ikorodu News Network (INN), Hon. Abayomi Daramola, the APC Vice Chairman of Lagos Central, expressed satisfaction with Bldr Banjo’s administration.

He acknowledged that while some areas need further development, the council’s overall performance under Bldr Banjo has been commendable.

Other prominent GAC members in attendance included Alhaji Rilwan Aleshinloye and Hon. Moshood Mayegun, the APC Deputy Chairman of Lagos State.

APC LGEA Chairman of Ikorodu, Otunba Olasunkanmi Tijani Jimoh, as well as Ikorodu North LCDA Vice-Chairman, Hon Olawale Ameen and other council officials like Hon. Adeyemi Adeniron and Hon. Adewusi Sulaimon, Supervisor for Information & Strategy, were also present.

In his remarks, Executive Chairman Bldr Adeola Adebisi Banjo expressed his gratitude for the positive feedback from the GAC members.

He emphasized his administration’s commitment to meeting residents’ needs and continually striving to achieve the council’s developmental goals.

Banjo credited his administration’s achievements to the strong collaboration and trust between council officials and the people of Ikorodu North LCDA, acknowledging that these accomplishments were the result of collective efforts.

Banjo highlighted the essential role of teamwork in local governance, noting that the council’s success relies on the shared commitment of both its leadership and the community.

He assured residents that his administration remains dedicated to initiatives that enhance infrastructure, strengthen security, and improve social welfare across the LCDA.

Reflecting on the GAC’s visit, Banjo voiced confidence that this recognition would motivate his team to uphold even higher standards of service.

He reaffirmed his dedication to fostering unity, transparency, and progress throughout Ikorodu North, with a strong focus on delivering impactful and lasting development for the community.
