Persons Living With Disabilities (PWDs) from across the 16 LGAs/LCDAs in Lagos East Senatorial District have received skills training and financial empowerment through an initiative facilitated by Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, in collaboration with the Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA).
The two-day training session, held in Ikorodu, focused on equipping beneficiaries with money-making skills such as Social Media Strategy and Digital Marketing, Skill Monetization, and Bead Making.
Each participant also received a grant of ₦100,000 to support their entrepreneurial journey.
The program aimed to provide practical knowledge and skills that enable participants to harness digital tools for personal and business growth, ensuring greater economic self-sufficiency.
This initiative is part of Senator Abiru’s ongoing commitment to inclusive development, having previously facilitated various empowerment programs, skill acquisition workshops, cash grants, and agricultural support—including fertilizers and other farm inputs—for farmers across Lagos East.
Through these interventions, PWDs are being empowered to overcome economic barriers, pursue sustainable livelihoods, and contribute meaningfully to the region’s economic growth.
This initiative reinforces the Senator’s dedication to creating opportunities for all, regardless of physical challenges, ensuring that every individual has the tools to thrive and succeed.
