The Ikorodu Chamber of Commerce Cooperative Multipurpose Society Limited was officially inaugurated on Friday, March 14, 2025, in a well-attended ceremony held at the ICCI Secretariat, Ikorodu Shopping Plaza, Ita-Elewa, Ikorodu, Lagos.
The historic event marked the formal commencement of the cooperative society’s operations, aimed at providing economic benefits and financial services to its members.
The inauguration witnessed the presence of ICCI leaders, government officials from the Lagos State Ministry of Commerce, Cooperative, Trade, and Investment, as well as representatives from other cooperative societies in and around Ikorodu.
The state government officials, domiciled in the Ikorodu Area Office, led the formal inauguration proceedings after delivering a concise lecture on the operation and benefits of cooperative societies.
In their goodwill messages, attendees commended the Ikorodu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) for spearheading the establishment of the cooperative society.
A special posthumous recognition was given to the Late Alhaji Mukaila Afolabi, whose dedication and tireless efforts played a pivotal role in ensuring the registration and take-off of the society.
The inauguration also featured the swearing-in of the Management Committee members, who will steer the cooperative society towards achieving its objectives. The executive team includes:

The establishment of the ICCI Cooperative Multipurpose Society Limited is expected to enhance financial inclusion, encourage savings, and provide easy access to credit and investment opportunities for its members.
The initiative aligns with the broader economic development agenda of ICCI in fostering business growth and sustainability within the Ikorodu division.
With this formal inauguration, the cooperative society is set to begin full operations, offering its members a platform for mutual support and economic empowerment.
