Ikorodu, Lagos – July 1, 2025, The Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, has praised the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, for his enduring legacy and developmental contributions as he continues his week-long project commissioning exercise to mark the end of his administration.
The monarch gave this commendation during the commissioning of the 346-kilometre Adekayaoja-Solomade Road on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, describing Adesina’s leadership as impactful, purposeful, and worthy of emulation.
“Adesina, you have come and conquered. You have done your part; let the rest be handled by the incoming administration,” Oba Shotobi stated.
The revered monarch also applauded Adesina’s track record in office, noting that:
“The legacy you have created is unmatched, and the party didn’t regret giving you the opportunity to serve as the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government.”
“I believe this legacy will speak for you in the future, as far as your political career is concerned.”
Responding, Hon. Wasiu Adesina emotionally appreciated the royal father for his forgiveness and unwavering support, despite earlier disagreements that occurred during his tenure.
“Kabiyesi, thank you for forgiving me despite the misunderstandings we had during my administration. You have shown true fatherhood. Your ability to allow your wealth of experience to rule over Ikorodu makes you one of a kind,” Adesina said.

The Adekayaoja-Solomade Bypass Road project, located directly behind the King’s palace, spans a total length of 346 meters and features dual-side drainages measuring 692 meters in total (346 meters per side), all fully covered with concrete covets.
Now fully constructed, the road is expected to significantly ease transportation, boost economic activities, and serve as a vital link within the Ikorodu metropolis.
This event marks the second day in a week-long project commissioning scheme initiated by Hon. Adesina, as his administration, winds to a close.
On Day One, the chairman commissioned the Jeitan Ultra-Modern Mini Market at Ota Ona, an upgraded commercial hub aimed at boosting small-scale trading and empowering local entrepreneurs.
The ongoing commissioning series highlights the various infrastructural and economic development projects executed under Adesina’s leadership, reinforcing his commitment to grassroots transformation.
With the warm reception from the community, traditional institutions, and political stakeholders, Hon. Adesina’s final days in office are fast becoming a celebration of achievements and a reflection of service-driven governance in Ikorodu Local Government.
