In a clear show of grassroots support, the Elemu Social Base has endorsed the Executive Chairman of Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, for a second term in office.
The endorsement was made on July 7, 2025, just days ahead of the local government elections scheduled for July 12.
Known for its motto, “We speak with one voice,” the Base paid a solidarity visit to the council chairman, commending her leadership and the tangible progress achieved during her first term—especially as the only female executive chairman in the entire Ikorodu Division.
The Chairman was accompanied by her Vice Chairman, Hon. Femi Kareem, during the reception of the Base.
The President of the club, Mr. Akande Adewale, praised Hon. Gbadebo-Alogba’s performance, describing her administration as one that embodies transparency, inclusiveness, and results-driven governance.
“Our chairman has done a lot to uplift all communities within Ijede LCDA,” Mr. Adewale stated.
“That’s what prompted us, as a club, to come forward in unity—not only to show our support but also to express our appreciation for her selfless service.”
“By commending her today, we believe it will encourage her to do even more for our people.”
Also speaking, the club’s Governor, Lion Ishola Oladimeji, clarified that while Elemu Social Base is not a political platform, it is committed to recognizing and supporting leadership that drives meaningful development.
“Though we are not a political club, we cannot ignore good governance when we see it,” he said.
“Hon. Gbadebo-Alogba’s administration represents accountability, service, and real progress.”
He further emphasized that the club’s core objective is to raise awareness at the grassroots level, encouraging responsible civic engagement and fostering unity—rather than contributing to societal unrest.
As a gesture of support, the club presented souvenirs to the council chairman during the visit.
In her remarks, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Elemu Social Base, describing the endorsement as both encouraging and motivating.
