IKEJA ELECTRIC ANNOUNCES 25-DAY POWER OUTAGE IN LAGOS FOR CRITICAL TCN MAINTENANCE ~ INN Nigeria ☆

Ikeja Electric Plc has announced a 25-day scheduled power outage that will affect parts of Lagos State, starting from Monday, July 28 to Thursday, August 21, 2025.

The announcement was made via the company’s official social media handles on Friday, where it disclosed that the temporary blackout is to facilitate critical maintenance work by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) on the Omotosho–Ikeja West 330kV transmission line.

According to the notice, the power interruption will occur daily from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. throughout the maintenance period. The company cautioned that customers should anticipate intermittent power supply and load shedding during the period, as the maintenance activities are expected to disrupt the usual electricity distribution across its network.

“Please be informed that Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) will carry out scheduled maintenance on the Omotosho–Ikeja West 330kV transmission line from Monday, July 28 to Thursday, August 21, 2025, between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm daily,” the statement read.

“During this period, customers may experience intermittent power supply and load shedding across our network due to the planned TCN outage.”

While the electricity distribution company did not specify the exact areas to be affected, residents in the Ikeja Electric network zone, which spans several key parts of Lagos including Ikeja, Alimosho, Agege, Ogba, and parts of Ikorodu, are advised to prepare for the disruption and make alternative arrangements where necessary.

The outage is part of broader efforts by TCN to enhance the reliability and efficiency of the national grid infrastructure, ensuring improved service delivery upon the completion of the project.

Customers have been urged to remain patient and understanding throughout the maintenance period, as Ikeja Electric says it will work closely with TCN to minimize the impact on power supply and ensure a swift completion of the repair works.
