OBA SHOTOBI’S SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME WILL NURTURE IKORODU’S FUTURE LEADERS – DR. AGBAJE ~ INN Nigeria ☆

Ikorodu, Lagos State – August 5, 2025 – The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, has lauded the Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi Royal Foundation for its pivotal role in promoting academic excellence and producing the next generation of intellectual leaders from Ikorodu Division.

Speaking after the 10th Coronation Anniversary Public Lecture and Scholarship Award Presentation of the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Dr. Agbaje said the Foundation’s consistent scholarship support is a deliberate investment in the intellectual capital of Ikorodu.

According to him, such support will not only uplift indigent but bright scholars but also boost the Division’s prospects of producing future leaders who will serve as worthy ambassadors of the community both nationally and globally.

Highlighting the monarch’s commitment to education, Dr. Agbaje commended the presentation of ₦250,000 each to 50 deserving indigenous students across various higher institutions in Nigeria, including Lagos State University (LASU), University of Lagos (UNILAG), Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM), University of Ibadan (UI), University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), and Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.

Dr. Agbaje, alongside Kabiyesi, HRM Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, and Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, represented by Hon. Noheem Adams, Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly (Eti-Osa Constituency I), jointly presented the scholarship awards to the beneficiaries during the program, symbolizing a strong collaboration between traditional leadership, legislative authority, and the executive arm of government in fostering educational development.

He stressed that the gesture not only eases the financial burden of the beneficiaries but also serves as motivation for other youths to aspire towards academic excellence.

“Kabiyesi is deliberately creating a legacy of intellectual empowerment, and the ripple effect will be seen in the number of well-educated, community-minded leaders Ikorodu will produce in the coming years,” Dr. Agbaje stated.

The scholarships were fully sponsored by the Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi Royal Foundation as part of the monarch’s continued efforts to support education, empower youths, and foster sustainable community development in Ikorodu Division.
