IKODIV TRADE FAIR 2025: ORGANIZERS PROMISE HISTORIC SHOWCASE OF COMMERCE, CULTURE, AND INNOVATION ~ INN Nigeria ☆

The Ikorodu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), in partnership with the Ikorodu Division (IKODIV) Trade Fair Committee, has unveiled ambitious plans for the 2025 edition of the IKODIV Trade Fair.

The announcement was made on Thursday the 11th of September 2025 during a press conference at LASUSTECH in Ikorodu, where organisers assured that this year’s fair, scheduled for December 1–10, 2025, will be the most expansive and transformative in the division’s history.

Speaking on behalf of the Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), Dr. Ademola Aderogba, Director of Student Affairs (DSA), underscored the institution’s dedication to community service through collaborations such as the trade fair.

“A university is not established solely for teaching. Our mandate rests on three pillars: teaching, research, and community service. Partnering with ICCI aligns with that mandate.”

“LASUSTECH is fully committed to ensuring the success of this year’s trade fair,” Dr. Aderogba said, encouraging Lagosians and business communities to seize the opportunities offered by the event.

ICCI President, Chief Oloruntele Oduloye, praised the collective efforts of stakeholders, stressing that the fair would elevate Ikorodu’s commercial relevance within Lagos State and beyond.

“This exhibition will bring more people to Ikorodu and further position the division as a commercial hub. We want the world to take notice, and the media is a vital partner in achieving that,” he remarked.

The highlight of the briefing came when Alhaji Kolawole Fatai, Chairman of the IKODIV Trade Fair Committee, officially declared the 2025 edition a landmark event.

“From December 1 to 10, Ikorodu and Lagos State will witness a spectacular display of commerce, creativity, and innovation.”

“The IKODIV Trade Fair goes beyond buying and selling—it is a platform for networking, collaboration, and knowledge exchange.”

“Our program includes seminars, workshops, and demonstrations designed to equip participants with practical growth strategies,” Alhaji Fatai stated.

He also acknowledged the support of LASUSTECH, the Lagos State Ministry of Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade & Investments, and corporate sponsors, stressing the role of public-private partnerships in sustainable economic growth.

Unveiling the key segments of the fair, Mrs. Peace Effiong, CEO of Peapline Global Enterprises Limited and Chief Consultant to the Trade Fair, announced a wide range of attractions:

The Expo (Exhibition Pavilion): A central hub for MSMEs, startups, cooperatives, and major industries across agriculture, ICT, fashion, food processing, and manufacturing.

SME Talent Show: A platform where young entrepreneurs can pitch their ideas to investors, with access to mentorship and funding opportunities.

Culture Pavilion: A celebration of Ikorodu’s heritage through traditional performances, arts, crafts, and local cuisine.

Fashion Showcase: A runway spotlighting both emerging and established designers blending cultural and modern trends.

Entertainment Arena: Live music, comedy, and performances designed to keep the fair lively.

SME Entrepreneur Training: Capacity-building sessions on branding, financial literacy, digital enterprise, and scaling businesses.

Mrs. Peace and Comrade Mike Ibikunle of Espial Media Network further emphasized that the trade fair is not only about showcasing Ikorodu’s economic potential but also about creating platforms for young people to showcase their talents and ideas.

Other dignitaries echoed this message including Mr. Micheal Adekoya, Director-General, Ikorodu Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Alhaja Abiola Rotinwa urged unity for greater participation and success, while the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) pledged full support, describing the fair as a golden opportunity for youth entrepreneurship.

ICCI member Mrs. Alogba Zainab expressed gratitude to LASUSTECH and other partners, offering prayers for the continued expansion of IKODIV.
