Ikorodu, Lagos — November 2025

‎Former Executive Chairman of Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Bldr. Adeola Adebisi Banjo, embarked on a goodwill tour across Ikorodu Division,  visiting newly elected council chairmen of Ikorodu North LCDA, Ikorodu Local Government, Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, and Imota LCDA.

‎The visits described as both historic and symbolic, underscored the values of continuity, mentorship, and intergenerational leadership within the political and administrative structure of the Ikorodu Division.

‎Bldr. Banjo delivered two inspiring speeches titled Towards a Legacy of Peace, Prosperity, and Hope for All” and “A Prayer from Banjo.”

Each address blended gratitude, reflection, and motivation — offering timeless lessons on leadership, responsibility, and selfless service.

‎Bldr. Banjo commended the newly elected council bosses for their impressive start in office, particularly their accomplishments within their first 100 days.

He described their efforts as “a testament to purposeful leadership and the people’s trust.”

‎“These first hundred days have spoken loudly of your dedication, humility, and vision,” he said.

“You have shown that leadership is not about position but about purpose, and that power finds its meaning only when it is used to uplift others.”

‎He urged the leaders to anchor their administration on compassion, fairness, and integrity, adding:

‎‎“When you build a road, build it as a path of unity. When you empower a youth, see it as an investment in destiny. When you help a mother, remember that you touch the heart of a nation.”

‎‎Bldr. Banjo also presented a symbolic framed artwork titled “Towards a Legacy of Peace, Prosperity, and Hope for All,” which he described as a visual prayer and moral compass for leaders — a reminder that service is sacred and accountability eternal.

Hon. Prince Abdulateef Adedayo Abayomi Ladega, Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, expressed his appreciation for Bldr. Banjo’s mentorship and guidance, describing the visit as “a rare and noble act of leadership beyond politics.”

Hon. Prince Hammed Olamilekan Aroyewun (H.O.A) executive chairman of igbogbo/baiyeku lcda, also commended Bldr. Banjo’s humility and enduring relevance.

“It is not everyone who leaves office that continues to inspire others,” he said. “Your visit today shows the strength of your character and the grace of God upon your life.”

‎Hon. Aroyewun further noted that Bldr. Banjo’s continued closeness with three notable APC political leaders in Ikorodu was a reflection of loyalty and good relationships in leadership.

‎Hon. Benson Sunday, Executive Chairman of Imota LCDA, expressed optimism about future collaboration, urging all political stakeholders to put aside past differences and unite in promoting the ruling party ahead of the 2027 elections.

“Together we can find solutions and move forward,” he said.

‎Bldr. Banjo’s visit to Ikorodu North LCDA, where he met with his successor, Hon. Ameen Olawale Ibrahim Apanisile, and delivered a touching address titled “A Prayer from Banjo.”

‎‎“I look at you, once my deputy and now the leader of our people, and I see how faith, humility, and grace can turn loyalty into destiny.”

“Your emergence is not only the triumph of the people’s choice but also a testimony that patience, character, and service never go unrewarded.”

‎‎He described his successor as “a steady voice of reason and a man who understands the heartbeat of the community.” Bldr. Banjo encouraged him to lead with empathy and wisdom:

‎“Leadership will stretch your strength and test your patience, but never let it steal your compassion.”

“Listen deeply to your people and serve them with sincerity. Do not lead with pride but with purpose.”

‎‎Presenting another symbolic artwork titled “A Prayer from Banjo,” he explained that it represented his blessings and hopes for peace, prosperity, and progress across Ikorodu North LCDA and the wider Ikorodu Division.

‎In his response, Hon. Apanisile expressed heartfelt gratitude, acknowledging Bldr. Banjo’s mentorship and continued interest in the growth of the council. He said,

‎“If the love were not there, you wouldn’t have come here. I appreciate your guidance and your prayers.”

“We are united in Ikorodu North, and we will continue to work for the people with transparency and diligence.”

‎‎Hon. Apanisile added that his administration had adopted some of the developmental strategies laid down by Bldr. Banjo, noting that the former chairman’s legacy continues to inspire ongoing projects across the LCDA.

‎Bldr. Banjo’s visit drew commendations from political leaders, community members, and youth representatives who described it as a demonstration of maturity, mentorship, and true democratic values.
