The tutorial programme, which kicked off last Saturday, is scheduled to hold every Saturday between January 17 and April 25, 2026, from 11:15am to 4:00pm.
The sessions are carefully structured into four lesson periods with a 30-minute break to ensure effective learning and concentration. While most subjects are taught for one hour per period, Mathematics is allocated one hour and fifteen minutes.
Under the programme timetable, the first subject holds from 11:15am to 12:30pm, followed by the second subject from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. A break is observed between 1:30pm and 2:00pm, after which the third and fourth subjects run from 2:00pm to 3:00pm and 3:00pm to 4:00pm respectively.
Subjects covered include English Language, Government, Literature in English, Biology, Accounting, and Commerce, with organisers explaining that subjects will be rotated weekly based on the availability of volunteer teachers.
Attendance records show strong student participation. Out of the 256 SS3 students in the school, 196 students attended the first tutorial session, while attendance increased to 218 students by January 24, 2026.
Prince Kayode noted that students who attended were highly cooperative and enthusiastic throughout the sessions, expressing optimism that those who were absent would join subsequent classes after receiving feedback from their peers.
Volunteer teachers were drawn from among Prince Kayode Olaide’s protégés, members of the boards of the collaborating foundations, as well as teachers from Keme Balogun Senior College.
Their voluntary service was described as a demonstration of collective commitment to educational development and youth empowerment in the community.
Special appreciation was extended to Olu Oregbemi, Motunrayo Temitope Adebajo, and Adewunmi Olayinka for their dedication and sacrifice in ensuring the successful commencement of the programme.
The organisers also commended the school principal and other teachers of Keme Balogun Senior College for their support and for taking up teaching responsibilities free of charge.
The organisers offered prayers for divine reward and blessings upon all contributors, reaffirming their commitment to initiatives aimed at improving educational outcomes and building a brighter future for students within the Ibeshe community and beyond.
