REP. BABAJIMI ADEGOKE BENSON, PRESENTED A BRAND NEW AMBULANCE TO GENERAL HOSPITAL IMOTA ~INN NIGERIA∆

Ikorodu law maker Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, presented a brand new ambulance to General Hospital Imota.

The presentation ceremony, held within the hospital premises in Imota, attracted traditional rulers, political leaders, healthcare professionals, and community stakeholders, many of whom described the intervention as another landmark stride in strengthening healthcare delivery across the constituency.

Rep. Benson, who facilitated the ambulance, was represented at the event by the Director-General of the iCare Foundation, Mayor Deen Sanwoola.

He conveyed the lawmaker’s unwavering commitment to improving access to quality and timely healthcare services for residents of Ikorodu Federal Constituency.

The Paramount Ruler of Imota Kingdom, Oba (Dr.) Mudashiru Ajibade Bakare-Agoro, officially handed over the ambulance to the hospital management, underscoring the community’s appreciation for the intervention and the importance of collaborative development efforts.

Speaking during the ceremony, the Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Adenike Omosun, expressed profound gratitude to the federal lawmaker for what she described as a life-saving intervention.

“Today, I express my profound gratitude for a gift that goes beyond equipment — a gift that represents life, speed, and hope,” she said.

Dr. Omosun noted that the ambulance would significantly enhance emergency response capabilities, facilitate faster patient transfers, and provide greater reassurance to families during critical moments.

She described the donation as a lifeline that would strengthen the hospital’s capacity to deliver efficient secondary healthcare services.

On behalf of the hospital’s management and staff, she also appreciated the Lagos State Government and the Health Service Commission for their continued support, while specially thanking Rep. Benson for his sustained commitment to the growth of the facility.

“This is not just a vehicle; it is a lifeline. It means faster emergency response, improved patient transfer, and greater assurance for families who depend on us in critical moments,” she added.

Also present at the event was the Vice Chairman of Imota LCDA, Princess Abisoye Oredoyin, alongside other key community stakeholders who commended the lawmaker for his consistent investment in the health sector.

Observers recalled that the hospital had previously benefited from Rep. Benson’s intervention through his facilitation of the ultramodern edifice that now houses the facility — a development that paved the way for its upgrade to a full-fledged General Hospital after years of advocacy by residents seeking comprehensive secondary healthcare services within the community.

Beyond the ambulance donation, the lawmaker is currently facilitating the construction of a diagnostic centre within the hospital premises, a move expected to further enhance medical services and reduce the need for patient referrals outside Imota.

Speaking on behalf of the lawmaker, Mayor Deen Sanwoola reiterated that healthcare remains a central pillar of Rep. Benson’s human capital development agenda.

He emphasized that timely emergency response can mean the difference between life and death, noting that the ambulance forms part of a broader vision to ensure residents receive prompt and efficient medical attention.

The ceremony concluded with prayers and commendations from community leaders, who described the intervention as another testament to purposeful leadership focused on tangible impact.
