The highlight of the event was the official unveiling of the studio, which was performed by Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, who commended the initiative as a forward-looking development for the Ikorodu Division.
In his welcome address, Mr Akinyemi expressed appreciation to guests and explained the absence of some traditional leaders due to prior engagements.

He noted that the event was primarily organized to officially unveil the newly completed studio and allow attendees to tour the facility.
Providing insight into the journey behind the initiative, Akinyemi traced the origin of the vision to 2005 when he established Trade and Contact Magazine.
He explained that by 2015, after a decade of publication, it became necessary to reassess its impact and adapt to the rapidly evolving media landscape in Ikorodu.
According to him, the growing population of Ikorodu demanded a more dynamic and real-time media platform, leading to the transition from print to online radio broadcasting.
He noted that while the initiative gained traction, operations were disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019, forcing a temporary shutdown and a shift to blog-based reporting.

Akinyemi further revealed that renewed collaboration efforts in 2020 contributed to the emergence of a community-focused broadcasting platform, while the vision for Ikorodu Oga Radio and TV remained alive.
He emphasized that despite challenges, including funding constraints, the project persisted through personal commitment and external business support.
He stated that by 2025, advancements in internet accessibility and data availability created the right environment to relaunch the platform in a more robust format, combining both audio and visual content delivery.
“What we have established today is a full-fledged multimedia podcast studio and content hub,” Akinyemi said.
“Beyond serving as a broadcasting platform, it is designed to empower young talents in Ikorodu by providing them with the tools and space to create, showcase, and distribute their content globally.”

He highlighted plans to launch “Ikorodu Division Got Talent,” an initiative aimed at discovering and promoting creative talents within the community, including comedians, musicians, actors, and dancers.
He added that the platform would also venture into movie production to tell indigenous stories from across Ikorodu Division.
Akinyemi stressed the importance of content creation in today’s digital economy, describing it as “the new oil,” and noted that the initiative seeks to redirect youths toward productive and value-driven ventures while projecting the cultural and economic potential of Ikorodu to a global audience.
Chairman of the occasion, Mr. Lekan Ogunbanwo, commended Akinyemi’s consistency and dedication, stating that the unveiling marks the beginning of greater achievements.
“I believe in Peju because of his constancy and positive drive. This is just the beginning, and I encourage you not to change who you are,” he said.
Also speaking, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali praised Akinyemi for his commitment to community development through media innovation, assuring him of continued support from traditional institutions.
The unveiling ceremony concluded with a guided tour of the state-of-the-art facilities, as stakeholders expressed optimism that the initiative would serve as a catalyst for youth empowerment, creative expression, and the global projection of Ikorodu’s identity.
