APC Amazons in Ikorodu Division organized a comprehensive medical outreach in honour of Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, Member representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, as part of activities marking the celebration of his birthday.
The initiative, which drew residents from across the division, reflected a blend of celebration and humanitarian service, aligning with the lawmaker’s known commitment to giving back to society.
The outreach served as an avenue not only to celebrate the birthday of the federal lawmaker but also to extend essential healthcare services to the people, particularly those who may not have regular access to medical check-ups.
With a focus on preventive healthcare and early detection, the programme featured a wide range of free medical services, creating a platform for community members to assess and improve their health status.
The event attracted several dignitaries, including Aarebirin Hon. Princess Dr. Folashade Olabanji-Oba, Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government Hon. Ladega Adedayo, Mayor Deen Sanwoola, DG iCare Foundation, Hon. Jessica Oba, Leader of the House, Ikorodu West Local Government, Hon. Banjoko Basirat, Leader of the House, Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area.

Aarebirin Hon. Princess Dr. Folashade Olabanji-Oba, National Coordinator of APC Amazons, described the group as politically inclined elected female officials and servants committed to nation-building.
She stated that the outreach was organized to celebrate Hon. Babajimi Benson, whom she described as a great leader, mentor, and a pride of Ikorodu.
According to her, although the lawmaker’s birthday was celebrated the previous week, the APC Amazons deemed it fit to extend love to the community in line with what he is known for.
She explained that the outreach featured various health services, including different types of health screenings, eye tests, provision of free glasses, distribution of medications, and health talks held earlier in the day to educate and encourage residents.

She emphasized the role of women in nation-building, noting that when women effectively carry out their responsibilities, the nation stands to benefit greatly.
She added that the gathering also showcased unity and diversity among members, stressing that APC Amazons enjoy a strong and productive relationship with their leaders.
Aarebirin Olabanji-Oba further highlighted that Ikorodu Division currently has the highest number of female political office holders across Lagos State, expressing confidence that their contributions would continue to gain recognition at the national level.
She concluded by giving glory to God and wishing Hon. Babajimi Benson many more years of impactful service.

Dr. Ololade Fadipe, appreciated Hon. Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba for the opportunity to be part of the initiative.
She noted that the outreach was held in celebration of Hon. Babajimi Benson’s birthday and as a show of support for his efforts in serving the people.
Dr. Fadipe emphasized the importance of monitoring high blood pressure, stating that any reading above 135/80 requires serious medical attention and follow-up.
She encouraged residents to take advantage of the Lagos State health insurance scheme, Ilẹra Eko, noting that it has been made accessible by the government to ease healthcare access.

She further stressed that individuals should not rely on a single hospital visit but should engage in regular medical check-ups. According to her, anyone above the age of 40 needs a comprehensive body check-up annually, as early detection of health issues leads to timely treatment and better outcomes.
Hon. Salah Rukayat Ajibike, SLG of Ikorodu West Local Government, described the APC Amazons as a group of women and children committed to supporting the community.
She noted that the outreach was designed to assist people who may not have the time or opportunity to visit healthcare facilities regularly.
She explained that the programme provided an opportunity for residents to check their blood pressure, sugar levels, and overall health condition.

She added that many individuals go about their daily activities—from home to shops and offices—without monitoring their health, making initiatives like this highly necessary.
Hon. Ajibike stated that the outreach also served as a way of expressing appreciation to Hon. Babajimi Benson for his consistent efforts in giving back to society, noting that the initiative reflects the spirit of service and care for the people.
The medical outreach ultimately provided residents of Ikorodu Division with access to free and essential healthcare services, while also celebrating the birthday of the federal lawmaker through impactful community engagement.
