The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, has stepped up strategic engagements with influential members of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), as conversations around the state’s political succession gather pace.
Speaking on the consultations via his social media post, Dr. Hamzat described the interactions as productive, noting that they focused on governance priorities and the leadership framework required to sustain Lagos’ continued growth.
He stressed the importance of drawing from the wealth of experience within the council, adding that such engagements are vital to shaping policies and strengthening collaboration among key stakeholders.
Amid these developments, indications within political circles suggest that Dr. Hamzat is gaining significant traction as a leading aspirant for the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 Lagos State gubernatorial election.
