IKORODU YOUTHS ADVOCATE CITYBOY MOVEMENT, SECURE APC STAKEHOLDERS’ BACKING AHEAD OF 2027 ELECTIONS ~ INN Nigeria ☆

Youths in Ikorodu advocating the CityBoy Movement have intensified grassroots political engagement, securing the backing of key stakeholders within the All Progressives Congress (APC) during a familiarization meeting held on Wednesday, April 29, 2027, at the APC Campaign Secretariat of Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje in Aga.

Speaking at the gathering, the Convener of the youth movement, Prince Kazeem Adeniyi Owoyele, emphasized that the initiative in Ikorodu is being driven by young people committed to promoting the movement’s ideals, rather than originating it.

He noted that the meeting was convened to engage party leaders for support while encouraging grassroots participation in governance and electoral processes.

Owoyele described the movement’s visit to Ikorodu as a significant milestone, stating that it received a “soft landing” and strategic support from Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development.

He added that the backing of Dr. Agbaje has strengthened the youths’ advocacy efforts and positioned the movement for wider acceptance across the division.

The meeting also attracted prominent political figures, including Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye, representing Ikorodu Constituency I at the Lagos State House of Assembly, who reaffirmed his support for the movement.

He stated that the advocacy by Ikorodu youths aligns with the APC’s broader projections for the 2027 general elections.

In his remarks, Dr. Agbaje endorsed the youths’ efforts, highlighting that their advocacy supports the reelection bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, as well as the governorship ambition of Dr. Obafemi Hamzat.

He further reiterated support for all APC candidates across Ikorodu Division, noting that their performance in office justifies another mandate.

The candidates include Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru (Lagos East Senatorial District), Hon. Babajimi Adejoke Benson (Ikorodu Federal Constituency), Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye (Ikorodu Constituency I), and Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro (AMA), representing Ikorodu Constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly.

Prince Owoyele further disclosed that the Movement would continue its familiarization tour, led by enthusiastic youths across the division, to engage leaders and stakeholders in building a solid support base for the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.

The meeting also featured an enlightenment session on voter registration processes and the importance of active civic participation.

A question-and-answer segment provided an avenue for newly admitted members to understand how to make meaningful contributions to the movement’s advocacy.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Habeeb Olusuga expressed confidence that with youths actively championing the youth movement, Ikorodu Division would secure stronger representation at local, state, and federal levels.

He also commended Dr. Agbaje for his pivotal support in facilitating the smooth takeoff of the advocacy in the division.

Similarly, Mr. Segun Olowu, an executive member of the movement, projected that the youth-driven advocacy would position the CityBoy Movement as a formidable political force in Lagos State and beyond.

He noted that the endorsement by key stakeholders reflects growing acceptance and would further galvanize grassroots participation in favour of the APC.

The well-attended meeting drew a large turnout of youths from Ikorodu Central, underscoring increasing political awareness and active involvement of young people advocating for the CityBoy Movement as preparations gather momentum toward the 2027 general elections.
