EID-EL-KABIR: SENATOR ABIRU DISTRIBUTES FOOD PACKS TO 10,000 LAGOS EAST HOUSEHOLDS ~ INN Nigeria ☆

The Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, has distributed food packs to over 10,000 households across the district as part of activities marking the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

The distribution exercise, held across various centres in Ikorodu, Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Kosofe, and Somolu divisions, attracted thousands of beneficiaries who received essential food items, including bags of rice and garri.

The intervention comes amid prevailing economic challenges and rising food costs affecting many households across the country.

Residents who benefited from the programme described the initiative as timely support aimed at easing the burden of the festive season.

Speaking through his media aide, Mr. Enitan Olukotun, during the distribution exercise at the Ikorodu Constituency Office, Senator Abiru said the initiative was part of his continuous commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of constituents in Lagos East.

According to the lawmaker, Eid-el-Kabir represents the values of sacrifice, compassion, generosity, and unity, stressing the need for individuals and leaders to support vulnerable members of society, especially during difficult economic periods.

He explained that the food distribution programme forms part of his broader social intervention initiatives targeted at cushioning the effects of economic hardship and improving the living conditions of residents across the senatorial district.

Senator Abiru also expressed confidence that the intervention would complement ongoing efforts by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Lagos State Government led by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to address food security concerns and improve economic stability.

He added that public office holders and community leaders must continue to initiate programmes that directly impact the lives of the people and strengthen communities during challenging times.

In addition to the food packs distributed to households, the senator also donated rams and cows to Imams, political leaders, community stakeholders, and other groups across Lagos East to support the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

Senator Abiru further extended greetings to Muslim faithful in Lagos East and across Nigeria, urging them to uphold the values of peace, tolerance, sacrifice, love, and mutual support associated with the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

The gesture has been widely regarded as another demonstration of grassroots-focused leadership and sustained community support within the Lagos East Senatorial District.
