Senator Abiru in a statement by his media aide, Mr Enitan Olukotun, in Lagos on Friday, extolled Muslim ummah for their sacrifice, steadfastness and perseverance in the month of Ramadan, in obedience to the injunction of Almighty Allah.
While urging Muslims to eschew vices they forsook during the Holy month, Senator Abiru admonished all Nigerians not to relent in their prayers for Nigeria, particularly, as the President-Elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is set to take the mantle of leadership of our dear country.
He said, “On behalf of my family, I felicitate with my esteemed constituents, particularly the Muslim Ummah of the Lagos East Senatorial District on the celebrations of the 2023 Eid-El-Fitr, which marks the completion of fasting in the holy month of Ramadan”.
“I admonish fellow Muslim brothers and sisters to continue on the glorious path of godly living we all lived during the Holy month of Ramadan. Eid el-Fitr festival symbolises sacrifice, selflessness, love and obedience to the tenets of Islam. I, therefore, enjoin us to draw enduring lessons from Ramadan and show love to one another as well as promote harmony, and peaceful coexistence, and leverage our diversity for national development.
“I also use this season to implore all Nigerians to continue to pray for our dear nation and also support and cooperate with the incoming administration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Folashade-Oba, Executive Vice-Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government made the call in her Message, congratulating Muslims as they celebrate Eid-el-Fitr.
According to the Director General of the Asiwaju Distinguished Ambassadors Movement (ADAM), Folashade-Oba in her statement to Ikorodu News Network (INN) wished the Muslim faithfuls, blessings and guidance of Allah, urging Nigerians to embrace peace, love, tolerance and sacrifice, which are the exemplary virtues of the Holy Prophet Mohammed.
She prayed for a peaceful and pleasant celebration, emphasizing the importance of the religious event towards the enhancement of peace, security, unity and progress of the country is withstanding.

Dr Obasa noted that the grace given to Muslims during the fasting period, which culminates in this year's Eid-el-Fitr, is a renewal of the need to constantly show gratitude to Almighty Allah for His provision, love and protection.
The Speaker, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Eromosele Ebhomele, commended the Muslim faithful in Nigeria for spending the Ramadan period praying for not themselves alone, but the country.
He expressed optimism that Nigeria would soon begin to experience a new direction with the forthcoming change of leadership baton between President Muhammadu Buhari and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Obasa thanked Lagosians for keeping faith in the government and constantly supporting it to succeed. He also praised Nigerians for remaining resolute and resilient with the hope of seeing the country of their dream just as he urged Muslims not to forget the lessons embedded in Ramadan and Eid-el-Fitr.
"Almighty Allah has been good to us in Nigeria. We can all attest to this looking at how far we have trudged as a nation in quest of happiness for its citizens.

He explained that administrators of people are not expected to default their roles at any point in time, later adding that their accountability to the people follows.
"It exemplifies how rulers ensure that there is justice in the land because as a transformational leader, any reserves of the community must be wielded in the adequate description" Imam Akanni added. Adesina characterised the lecture as a faith builder, asserting that residents must abide by the pillars in humility for Allah to grant them successful days. <p>

The unique prayers and thanksgiving service dated Wednesday, March 29, 2023, was organised as directed by the President-Elect, instead of his annual birthday colloquium.
Presided over by the Grand Chief Imam of Ikorodu division, Sheikh (Alhaji) Seifudeen Ayinla Ademoritan Olowo-Oribi, the devotion program drew Islamic clerics from the six districts consisting of Ikorodu division.
Chief Asipa Kaoli, Alhaji Waheed Animashaun, Hon. Lanre Balogun, Alhaji Decubano and other party leaders were in attendance.
Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, Bldr Olusesan Daini, Executive Chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, Hon. Coinciding with the Ramadan season, Sheikh (Alhaji) Chief Imam Seifudeen Ayinla Ademoritan Olowo-Oribi, in his lecture urged the Muslim faithfuls to prioritise praying for the peace, unity and progress of Nigeria as the nation readies to embrace another duration of leadership.
Sheikh Olowo-Oribi further prayed to Almighty Allah to grant Bola Tinubu long life, good health and wisdom with which he would oversee the nation to a prestigious elevation as President.
Subsequently, the Grand Chief Imam and over a hundred rabi Imams who assembled in the mosque, read the full Quran to offer prayers for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking from his administration standpoint, Hon Wasiu Adesina, Executive Chairman of Ikorodu LG said Tinubu's electoral victory was the providence of God and that such prayer session is timely and ideal in reverence to Almighty God to further lead him right to steer the affairs of the country.
According to Adesina, for Asiwaju to put his birthday colloquium on hold for the third time to lift the nation into the hands of Almighty God shows the kind of leader he is.
"We must continue to pray for him for God to grant him the strength and capacity to take this country to a higher level" Adesina asserted.
This year will be the third in recent times the birthday colloquium will not hold in deference to developments in the country. In 2020, the 12th edition of the colloquium marking Asiwaju's 68th birthday was put off to empathize with those who lost their lives or were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
And in 2022, the birthday symposium was also called off by Asiwaju Tinubu right at the venue of the event when news emerged of the terror attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train in which several persons died and many others were abducted.
The Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos venue was already filled with dignitaries to celebrate the birthday when Asiwaju took to the podium to announce the cancellation of the event.
The former Governor of Lagos had said it would not be proper for him as a statesman to be celebrating when such a tragedy had befallen the nation.
This year, the president-elect said the date, which falls within the holy month of Ramadan, should be dedicated to prayers and seeking God's guidance for him and the country as he prepares to take the reins of leadership.
