Oriwu Central Mosque Supports Ikorodu General Hospital & Rehabilitation Centre (Owutu) With Medical & Basic Supplies

The Rainy Tuesday of March 24th 2020 couldn’t prevent the goodwill movement of the Social team from the Oriwu Central Mosque in Ikorodu.
Accompanied by the Chief Imam Of The Oriwu Central Mosque Yahya O. Oshoala Ajagbemokeferi with a clear purpose to helping medical patients across Ikorodu the team made their first stop at the Ikorodu general hospital, where they were warmly welcomed by Representatives from both the maternity department and medical service department.
The medical officials where encouraged to see the supplies brought in by the team for their patients.

Received the support items of Tissues, hand clutches (walking sticks), Bedspreads, Bathing Soaps and other items from the Chief Imam of the Oriwu central mosque with profound gratitude, after appreciating the Imam. He urged the body to do more as in the midst of the Corona virus pandemic , “the medical institution needs more items like the face masks and sanitizers, but indeed we are soo happy right now seeing what you have brought to support us”, Said Dr. Obani.

Thanked the delegates from the Oriwu central mosque and also the Chief Imam praising their positive support towards the hospital which is critical at this point in time and prayed that Allah will continue to guide and protect every indigenes of Ikorodu in this health sensitive period. “Most times it is not the big things that matters but the little essential ones that makes the difference”, said Dr. Poopola.

The chief Imam of the Oriwu central mosque Yahya O. Oshoala Ajagbemokeferi presented the items to the medical officials of the Ikorodu general hospital thanking them for all their efforts to better the lives of Ikorodu indigenes. “Though this can’t be enough for you, But with this May almighty Allah open the windows of more support for you”, Said Yahya. “The government cannot do it all, so we have decided in our own way to show support towards the good health of our people in Ikorodu”, He stated.

After the general hospital supply the entire team moved on to the Vocational and rehabilitation centre in Owutu (Ikorodu West) where they gave food items (Bags Of Rice & Beans), Clothes etc.

Though they were met with a total lockdown of the facility as instructed by the state government due to the Corona virus pandemic, they where also received by a senior staff of the vocational centre Mr. Kehinde Modupe, who thanked the entire team plus the Chief Imam for taking out their time and resources to help the needy.
The chief Imam prayed for the administration of the rehabilitation centre and advice them to keep up their good course with relenting.

Alhaji G.A Wahab Okogoncoi (Sariki Adeen Of the Oriwu Central Mosque & The chairman of the Social Welfare Committee) praised his team for facilitating the movement despite the weather and thanked the chief Imam for leading the charge to bless Ikorodu. “Just like our chief Imam have said already, The government alone cannot do it all, we also have a part to play in this, that is why we have decided to reach out to the medical institution in Ikorodu today and we thank the almighty Allah for the success”, Said Alhaji Wahab.
Amongst the members of the committee present was;  Hijia Balikis Olatunji Olohunyo (Secretary of the committee)
