COVID-19: NYCN IMOTA BRANCH SENSITIZE PUBLIC WITH 5,000 NOSEMASK, ERECT BANNERS FOR AWARENESS IN IKORODU

Saturday, 30th of May, 2020 will forever be a remarkable day in the historical development of Imota Local Council Development Area as the Executive Elect of National Youth Council of Nigeria, Imota LCDA activate it’s #Mask-Up-Imota-LCDA Campaign with 5,000 nose mask to sensitize and create awareness about the use of Nose Mask with erection of flex banners in different strategic places as the Government ease the lockdown.
The sensitization and campaign awareness tagged #Mask-Up-Imota-LCDA was birthed as an initiative to sensitize the entire people of Imota LCDA on the use of Nose mask, Social distancing, and other health safety precautions as advised by Lagos State Government.
Speaking during the exercise, The Coordinator Elect and leader of the team, Comrade Folarin Adegboyega Awal said the programme was geared towards encouraging all the people of Imota LCDA on the importance of Nose mask usage which is part of the efforts to curb community transmission of COVID-19.
Comrade Folarin pointed out that the sensitization and awareness campaign, which was carried out to guide her people particularly now that they have resumed on going out in order to get their daily livelihood.
“it is important for us to engage in aggressive enlightenment on the need to take responsibility, to support the efforts of the State Government to curb the spread of the global pandemic by staying safe and using nose mask regularly”
“I advised all the good people of Imota LCDA to continue to abide by the safety regulations issued by the State Government and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC)”
The team leader further disclosed that, as part of the commitment to the “#Mask-Up-Imota-LCDA” flex banners were display on a van which were later hanged in different strategic locations in Imota community.
“I really appreciate all our sponsors for supporting this project, National Orientation Agency, and my executive cabinet members for rendering their selfless service and for showing keen interest in making impact towards the development of all the noble communities in Imota LCDA against all Odds, he added”.
It would be recalled that following the State government compulsory regular use of face masks in the public to protect all residents from sneezing aerosols, secretions and coughing droplets due to the fact that not everyone that is infected will show symptoms of the disease, frequent hand washing, Social/physical distancing as well as embracing other personal hygiene safety tips are the most effective ways of containing the community spread of this ravaging pandemic
Some of the locations covered during the sensitization campaign included Oriokuta community, Igbalu community, Oko ito community, Oke Agbo community, Igbokuta community, Oke Lisa community, Idi Apaiye community, Agudungbu, Ebute Ajebo, Araromi, Ayayo road, Owode, Ajegunle, Eluku, Itunmaja, Itun-onabu, Atere, among others.
