In view of the legitimate demands for good governance and end to police brutality, our youth have shown that with coordinated resolve, the much-needed improvements in our socio-economic situation can be achieved.
Their “crime” was that they had the audacity to galvanize themselves and demanded good governance. Constructive engagement was ongoing and a panel of enquiry had been set up to address their grievances, but shockingly excessive force was deployed thus aggravating an already tense situation.
We as leaders must rededicate ourselves and be unrelenting as we find resolutions to the genuine request for better governance put forward by our youth.
Victory is not found when we exert our strength
because we are strong and the other is weak, our strength should lie in our ability to engage, be inclusive and make necessary sacrifices towards a better Nigeria for all.
My heart goes out to those that were affected by last night’s incident.
I am against the use of Military personnel in civil conflict resolution and will lend my voice for an investigation to get to the bottom of this, JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED.
l emphatize with the aggrieved and urge you all to please put your safety first while we work assiduously towards finding lasting solutions to your demands.
