This morning, I visited the Lagos State Ministry Of Health’s Traditional Medicine Board to inspect and examine their facility at Onikan which is in a state of disrepair and requires urgent attention.
Lagos State Government has mapped out a plan to rebuild the infrastructure, with a befitting design that reflects what the agency is about.
This project is very important as it will aide a parallel health care system, giving room for integrated health care system and provide alternative healthcare service delivery in Lagos.
I also met several traditional medicine practitioners from a multitude of disciplines undergoing training in different aspect of traditional medicine practice.
I interacted with them and assured them that Lagos State Government has put measures in place to advance their profession in an accredited and regulated manner.
I thanked the Chairperson and the board for giving me an appreciation award and I commend them for the great work they have been doing despite the state of the facility.
