The Igbogbo Beach Soccer Club was officially presented to the Bldr. Olusesan Daini by the management of the team on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the newly commissioned ultra-model office complex, Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area.
In attendance was Mr. Adewale Bolowotan, Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Chief of Staff, Mr Taiwo Obayomi Supervisor for Sport, Mr. Jelili Ognmuyiwa, Special advisers to the chairman on sport, Omoba Ademola Ogunlewe, the team Manager, Mr. Sunday Pappy John, the team’s coach; Mr. Dolapo Ewulogbo, the team’s media director, Dapo Lawason, the team captain and entire team assemblage.
After the epoch-making participation of the team in the inaugural Nigerian National Beach Soccer League, held in Lagos; the Chairman had the honor of officially receiving the team and congratulate them for the amazing display of professionalism.
The team was presented to the chairman by Mr. Jelili Ogunmuyiwa, the special adviser to the chairman of sport in the company of team leader, Omoba Demola Ogulewe and Sunday Pappy John, the team coach.
In his speech, Mr Jelili failed not to relate the mount size needs of the newly created team which are mostly financial and standard beach soccer pitch for standard beach soccer training in preparation for their forth coming games in Kebbi in May, Kwara –in June and Kaduna in July, 2021.
The obviously elated chairman expressed his gratitude for the historic moment and uttered his deepest desires for vicarious outings of the team in the subsequent games. He referred to the team has limit breakers who have magnified the name of Igbogbo of kingdom beyond the shore Lagos state and he his sure that team will outlive our generation.
The Chairman also unveiled the readiness of his government to play significant roles in meeting the financial needs of the team, thus requested for proposal in respect of the team’s request for speedy attention.
The chairman also told the team the level of consultations he had personally made to ensure that the beach soccer is professionally put in place even before the requested time. According to him, the consultation was necessary so the state government will not presume the site for the Lagos State Stadium had been converted for another purpose.
