The climacteric event which seized place at the igbogbo secretariat multipurpose hall lived up to expectations hosting leaders including GAC members, stakeholders, councillors and other neighbourhood development association managers.

While the program progresses, a medical check-up activity was examined simultaneously for the geriatric folks refinement of the council boss to protect the health and well-being of his dwellers in line with prevailing Lagos State health management agency (LASHMA) agenda known as ‘Health Insurance (Ilera Eko).

The multidimensional statement-making occasion also saw the chairman unveiling the official igbogbo baiyeku internal revenue committee logo which will be subsequently printed on all taxable element within the LCDA.

In the chairman’s address, he stated “On July 22nd, 2017, you, the good people of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA chose us to serve you. Much was delivered into our care to study, build and rebuild; with God on our side, your immense support and our ingenuity, we made Igbogbo/Baiyeku a reference point of growth and good governance in Lagos State. We broke records and set new ones. We cannot thank you enough for the support you gave us to achieve so much. Again, on July 24th, 2021, you people returned us into the office for the second term with greater purpose and expectations”

“This government is thus a government of continuity, to provide better service and dividends of democracy to the people. Today marks our 1584 days in office, making egalitarianism a common experience to the people of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA; this makes continuity of good governance a desire of our people. The focus of this administration is embedded in the THEMES agenda of Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State. The hallmarks of our last dispensation were the commissioning of the council’s new administrative complex, Kaniyi/Adeboruwa Market and Motor Park, construction of Oluwo Amoju/Olayinka Street and others so we have a good foundation to build upon. Our roads infrastructure is the topmost priority of this administration: drainage clearing, palliative and construction of our roads will begin very soon”

“In order to improve standard of our transportation system and security on our roads even at night, our administration will be installing solar powered streetlight on Oba Molaja Road before the end of this year. The council’s legislature has approved the establishment of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Public Works to give urgent and immediate attention to our road damages to avoid deplorable situation on our roads. The legislature equally approved the compulsory branding and profiling of every bike rider working in the LCDA; to ensure safety and security of our roads and people. Our administration is committed to standard healthcare delivery system in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA. Efforts are in top gear to rehabilitate and renovate both Offin and Elepe health centers. We are providing every support and supervision for the ongoing Comprehensive and Standard  Primary Healthcare Center in Agbele, Igbogbo

“The abandoned Federal General hospital project is getting a push by Hon Babajimi Benson for completion. We have made provisions for the installation of two units of 300KVA  transformers for some communities and we intend to do more. Our administration has adopted a stringent goal for both quantitative and qualitative primary education in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA. Part of our resolve is to ensure that all our primary schools are fenced to ensure our children are learning in a quiet and secured environment. We have started provision of benches and desks for all the primary schools and converting every blackboard to white marker board; as well as provision of writing and instructional materials. The work on the modern library, enabled by our administration is at desired speed; the library will be delivered for public use soon”

We are setting up Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA’s quality education team to monitor and ensure that our teachers are doing well and pupils are responsive. We are also embarking on provision of running stipends to our primary schools’ head teachers to aid administration of education activities in the schools. We have facilitated construction of the first public primary school in Olu-odo community through the magnanimity of Hon. Babajimi Benson, after we received a donation of an acre of land from the Olu-odo family. The construction will by God’s grace be completed very soon and the first set of pupils will resume learning in the facility in 2022. We also facilitated one block of six classrooms in Methodist Primary School, Elepe, also championed by Hon. Babaji Benson. Our administration will be sponsoring the winner of Igbogbopedia on a historic international educational trip, the project that will be adopted as the Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA annual project. So much has been achieved in securing lives and properties in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA. However, a lot more will be done in this dispensation to gallantly nip insecurity in the bud. We have secured land from the Ijaolu ruling house to build a police station in Elepe Community. We have equally facilitated the State Government to build a police station in the Agufoye community; the process of securing land for the project is ongoing. We are working on getting approval to site marine police stations along our coastal lines to further secure lives and properties”

“Our administration will commence full development and re-construction of Owode Ibeshe market and Elepe market in the first quarter of 2022. Our collaboration and engagement with the state Ministry of Commerce will aid SMEs and young entrepreneurs to benefit from the State and Federal Government’s loans and grants. The council has started and will continue to provide stipends to old people, widows and physically challenged persons as captured in the last of State Operational Coordinating Unit and today we will be awarding 100 people with ₦20,000 each as support and empowerment”

On Igbogbo-Baiyeku Road, our administration had entered into a tripartite agreement with the CDC/CDAs and Dredgers Association to commence palliative work on the road to urgently ameliorate the deplorable state of the road and the financial contribution of the council has been fulfilled. The council’s agricultural plans and development training are in the top gears to ensure food security and socio-economic empowerment of our people. We have decided to rebrand Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA’s revenue committee. The legislature has approved the new operational arm and logo, which will take effect from today. The new revenue operational arm will be provided with a unique uniform and a single treasury account will be introduced to avoid cash payment to any individual. This will strengthen our revenue generation base, increase our resources, capacity, accountability and service delivery. All we have done and all we plan to do are largely dependent on your uncompromising support and we do not take it for granted. We will appreciate input and advice to make the 2022 Budget inclusive” Bldr Sesan Diani Added

In appreciating the chairman for all his accomplishments, Oba Richard Ogunsanya, the Olubeshe of IbesheLand begged the council boss to vamp up more road constructions.

“No one can take away the numerous successes of Daini, I appreciate the chairman for his works so far, but i also want to plead with him to do more for the community”

“We admire him in upswing for the new market landing in ibeshe road soon, but I want to persuade our chairman to concentrate more on the roads to support motorists” Oba Richard Ogunsanya implored

“Everything the chairman has done actually touches on every developmental structure in igbogbo baiyeku LCDA, he is a chairman that is ready to work at anytime or day. I have met his councillors and executives and without mixing word, he’s set up a formidable leadership structure to advance this council”

As earlier lamented by the Olubeshe of Ibesheland, let me use this medium to state that two road will be done in ibeshe road very soon, and baiyeku road is also a done deal for 2022 construction by the lagos state government. I urge all affected to exercise patience on behalf of the local council development area” Hon Saka Solaja added

“We’re very delighted with the chairman sofar, he is the definition of the saying ‘where there is a will, there is way’, If he’s not soiumphant the society will not be attributing him like this. The ratio at which population are complimenting him demonstrates his giant footprints. The reward for good work is more work so we will continue to pray for God to strungidate him for supplementary performance” Hon Adebimpe Akinsola

After complimenting the council boss, Senator Seye Ogunlewe aroused him not to get hauled away by the excessive accolades he’s amassing and keep his eyes on submitting more impacts towards the growth and development of igbogbo community.

“Public office is not constant, it is what you leave behind that the people will talk about and recollect you for. Don’t eavesdrop to vast applause, anyone that disagree with your accomplishments also cares for you, that is my advice to the chairman. But in all it is obvious he has done marvellously well”
