As the world celebrates and enjoys the festive season, patients battling different life-threatening diseases shouldn’t be left out. Certain people get to reach out and bring comfort to them in various ways.
On Christmas day, the Permanent Secretary, Health Service Commission, Dr. Benjamin Ademuyiwa Eniayewun, on behalf of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, wished the patients a merry christmas & a happy new year in advance and distributed gifts to all patients in the wards.
He also presented a special gift to the Christmas baby for the year 2021. Dr. Ademuyiwa Eniayewun appreciated the management and staff of the hospital for their sacrifices as health care providers & care givers.
He described as an act of humanity their sacrifices of denying themselves of enjoying christmas with their loved ones to celebrate Christmas with patients of the hospital He also commended the management for being proactive with the transformation ongoing in every section of the hospital and also appreciated the staff for giving the management tremendous support.
The Medical Director/CEO, Dr. Taiwo Hassan in his remarks appreciated the Permanent Secretary for his numerous support for the hospital which includes
deployment of House Officers and several human capacity development programmes & training for all cadres of staff of the hospital.
He stated that GHI is now training house officers and doctors have been relieved with the deployment of house officers. In the spirit of the season all the wards and departments were beautifully decorated and adorned with Christmas tree and lights.
The Paediatric ward was also recognized as the best decorated ward, pre & post natal ward in 2nd position and labour ward in 3rd position.
