HON. KOLADE ALABI, BLDR DAINI CHARGES COUNCILLORS TO REMAIN POWER OF THE GRASSROOTS AT 2022 LAGOS STATE COUNCILLORS FORUM MEETING ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) and Chairman of Conference 57, Hon. Alabi Kolade allied the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, Bldr Sesan Daini, in overseeing the 2022 Inaugural Meeting of Lagos State Councillors Forum.

Aimed at strengthening the performance rate of councillors per head, with agendas to further improve administrative techniques, the meeting is characterised ‘a call to do more’ in lifting the standard of the forum.

Playing host to esteemed dignitaries the event received the presence of the Adeboruwa-in-council, Hon. Okedina-Maja Nuraini (Vice-chairman Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA), Hon. Moturayo Gbadebo-Alogba (Executive chairman, Ijede LCDA) and captioned the ceremonial swearing-in of the new councillor’s forum executives for 2021 – 2025.

Held on the 10th of August at Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA secretariat, Hon. Kolade Alabi, whose body harbours all the chairmen in the twenty local governments and thirty-seven local council development areas in Lagos State, exhorted all councillors in attendance to be knowledgeable of the capacity they harness which can effectively deliver Lagos State for APC in the coming election.

Bldr Olusesan Daini in his opening statements, thanked all councillors for staying in line with the laid down administrative framework of their respective councils, encouraging them not to capitulate in their dedication and service to the communities.

Daini proceeded, “Tolerance is the ability to accept each other regardless of our tribe, religion, qualification or opinion to life. Development is not about where we come from, but the result we can bring to the table.”

“(APC) Our party embodies tolerance and we must stand for what our party is vying for at all times. Lagos is a working state and our councillors are the institution of peace in our respective councils.”

“Councillors must watch out for each other and becoming better ambassadors because you’re our power to the grassroots”, Bldr Daini advises the listening audience at the Lagos State councillors forum inaugural meeting.

Hon. Kolade Alabi, Chairman, Bariga LCDA emphasised the need to collectively underscore proven capabilities, challenging all to improve on recorded achievement, adding that the administration is poised to upgrade the level of input from councillors through sophisticated methods.

Furthermore, he compelled ward councillors in Lagos State to enlist themselves for campaign and mobilization towards the 2023 election for All Progressives Congress (APC), targeting the local base which is every councillor’s stronghold.

Hon. Kolade continued, “With the kind of conference 57 executives we have today, it is all about positive synergy between the chairmen and councillors”.

“My message is for all councillors to co-operate for us to render you with maximum support to form the partnership needed to fast-track growth in Lagos State.”

Teasing an overseas training programme for councillors, Hon. Kolade Alabi asserted that councillors should rest their confidence in the calibres of their current council chairmen.

“We must continue to work together to deliver more, and I can ascertain at this juncture a smoother operation between the executive and legislative arm of our local government” Hon. Kolade affirmed

Towolawi Abayomi (Organising secretary), Hon. Disu Kamorudeen (assistant secretary), Hon. Kiki Emmanuel (assistant treasurer), Hon. Bamgboye Oluwatoyin (assist fin sec), Hon. Returning executives of the councillor’s forum were subsequently presented with certificates.
