Day two empowerment program organised by Hon. Babajimi Benson, member house of representatives (Ikorodu federal constituency) climaxed on the 20th of August 2022.
The program implemented to caption the innumerable successes of ‘JB’ as he’s fondly called, hosted residents across the entire Ikorodu division at his constituency office along Ebute-Igbogbo road, Solebo estate in Ikorodu.
The Ayangburen Of Ikorodu Kingdom, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi (Ayagburen of Ikorodu), Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali (Adeboruwa of Igbogbo), Oba Olukayode David Raji (Eweye of Isiu) were among paramount rulers to grace the program encompassing political administrators, Member House of Representative Eti-Osa, Ibrahim Babajide Obanikoro and Prince Lanre Sanusi (Member House of Representative Candidate Amuwo Odofin).
With Day one (19th of August) labelled out to support youth and women with financial aid, day two was all about productive empowerment and presentation of business stimulating mechanisms, which the federal lawmaker cited as give-back measures to his constituents for their total backing and devotion to his administrative course.
“History has repeated itself in Ikorodu division!”, exclaimed, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, The Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom, who disclosed to beneficiaries how the Benson family has been synonymous with chronological attainment in the region over the years.
In all, 30 Mini-Buses, 25 Tricycles, 9 Motorcycles, 70 Freezers, 40 Hairdryers, 30 Vulcanizing Machine, 43 Sewing Machine, 45 Generator, 2200 Solar Power with Fan and 500 Solar Power without Fan were forked out to residents.
Poised to attain a unanimous 3rd term return to the office, representing the waterbed region at the federal level, Jimi Benson in his speech, stated that the empowerment program is an expression of his gratitude and affection to the good people of Ikorodu division, simultaneously highlighting his numerous feats.
He continued, “Words cannot explain how excited I am today and the overtime bond we’ve established between this leadership and the good people of Ikorodu. It is only appropriate that I continue to show my gratitude through programs like these”.
“As a legislator, I’ve been able to facilitate construction of 30 federal and avenue Extention roads in Ikorodu LG, Imota, Ikorodu North, Igbogbo Baiyeku and Ijede LCDA”.
“We’re not halting there, by the first quarter of 2023, we’re proceeding to Owode-Ibeshe road, plus a construction of an athletic stadium in LASUTECH and the completion of the Ikorodu-sagamu road, not to forget the construction of 80-bed Hospital achieved in Imota LCDA”.
“This 2 days empowerment program is initiated to further provide our people with the premia of democracy, it is all about touching lives and enriching our level of productivity” Hon. Jimi Benson asserted.
