The continuation of the school’s sensitisation program organised by Imota Students’ Union had its tentacles spread to two additional schools within Imota LCDA.
From Regal College To Paradise School, the focus and facets of the program remained intact, with students re-orientated and educated on the focus of the program.
Miss Adebogun Iyunola Itunu a student from Caleb University broaden the horizon of the students during the morning session at Regal college on the Effect of Peer Group for Academic Excellence and Personal Development.
She buttressed the fact that peer influence either makes (Positivity) or mar (Negativity) individuals for purpose value, With lots of points on how they can maximize peer influence for positivity and ignore the negativity.
Amb. Sholeye Orirenitemi, a student of Lagos State University took a session on the effect of peer groups at Paradise School.
The insightful session provided practical steps to the students on how best they can handle the effects of peer group on; being disciplined, having a mind of their own, upholding nobility as a person and walking one’s talk.
Subsequently, President of Imota Students’ Union, Comrade Ogunbowale Olatayo Bodunrin, an Electrical/Electrical Engineering student of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Public Speaker, Deputy Director Focus Point Academy; anchored the aspects of Attaining Academic Excellence and Substantial use of Social Media Usage at both schools.
The last session, aimed at re-shaping the ideology of the students towards their understanding of Social Media gave room for students to discern Social Media as a platform with a propensity to make or mar the future of every user without inferring its effect.
The program was moderated by Comr. Lasisi Victor Oluwadamilare as questions were raised with answers given.
Principals, teachers and students of both schools appreciated the efforts of the Union.
