The Executive Chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, Bldr. Sesan Daini has called on residents in his Local Council Development Area (LCDA) to support the thorough progress of local security agencies.

Imploring dwellers to invariably say something whenever they see any foul around their vicinity, Bldr. Daini illustrated that it takes effective teamwork between law enforcement and inhabitants to bring maximum peace to every neighbourhood.

Squarely focus on combatting crimes, the statement was made by the council boss as Igbogbo/Bayieku LCDA hosted its 2022 Security Summit and 2nd Anniversary of Joint Task Force (JTF) at Oba Adeboruwa Palace on the 24th of November 2022.

Graced by eminent personalities from across the town, including royal fathers, school students/administrators, CDC chairman & excos, Corporate bodies, LASACO officials etc, the program intimated community stakeholders and residents alike on the modus operandi of the safety outfit in toiling to make community guarding favourable for the police.

The chairman started by acknowledging the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, for his support in making the security unit a reality.

According to Bldr. Daini, in a bid to aid effective operations by the JTF since its establishment two years ago, the council has ensured that allowances of all enlisted safety personnel are paid to date.

“Salaries for JTF personnel have also seen a 50% increase to enable the outfit to intensify their performance without compromising their function of providing peace and tranquillity to the neighbourhoods” He explained.

“Members of the Joint Task Force (JTF) have also completed a one-week training on Local Intelligence in Promoting community policing held at Police College in Ikeja, Lagos State“.

“They will be receiving their certificate of participation today” Daini asserted.

The one-of-a-kind Security Summit presided over by HRM, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, also received Lagos paramount monarchs; Oniba Ekun of Iba Land, Oba Sulaimon Adeshina Raji-Aside, Alakesan of Akesan Land, and Oba Nojeem Abidemi Ogunjobi.

Furthermore, the council chief, stated that the council is facilitating a Life Insurance program for all JTF officers to cater to their families in cases of unfortunate casualties.

Daini explains, “It has not been an easy ride for us, even though the essence of this outfit has been justified, felt and adopted from all corners”.

“During the space of two years in operation, we’ve lost a member of this outfit in the line of duty. But the council has endeavour to cater for the family in every ramification”.

“Subsequently, in cases of unfortunate incidents of such, the council is now spurred to initiate a Life Insurance plan for all officers in the task force through LASACO Assurance company”.

(LASACO Assurance PLC provides life and general insurance services, which include; motor, bond, contractors-all-risk, fire, burglary, aviation, marine, general accident, life, pension schemes, engineering, and oil and gas).

“The provision of Life Insurance will keep the minds of family members of the officers at ease”.

Daini later noted that the council is also working to present a bye-law by January 2023″ Daini noted.

Shifting his attention to schools in attendance, the council chief urged pupils and school administrators alike to see the local security outfit as a tool to foster stability in the community.

Urging students to say something whenever they see anything wrong around them, Daini emphasized the council’s plan to enhance education through its Igbogbopedia initiative.

“As we work to curb crimes, we’re also working to uplift brilliant students in Igbogbo Baiyeku, which will enable other pupils to take their books seriously. Igbogbopedia is a spelling competition for school students which broadens their intellectual scope”.

“The year 2022 winner has been billed for an all-expense paid trip to South Africa with me for an educational tour across different sophisticated institutions”

“We’re doing this to keep our children focus in school and avoid negative influences. We expect them to stay away from bad friends, who try to lure them into cultism and other forms of social vices” Daini added.

CSP Balogun Aderemi, DPO Ikorodu (barracks) police station along Igbogbo road commended the efforts made by Bldr. Daini to secure the lives and property of residents, explaining that with the level of security consciousness displayed by the council boss, Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA will witness more serenity.

According to CSP Aderemi, A lot of areas that used to be on red alert due to crimes and chaos orchestrated by restless souls have now seen calm due to the stationing of the security units across different domains of the community.

“I must commend the strength of Daini towards security in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, everything he’s doing for security is making the work of the police force easier, and that’s how it’s supposed to be”.

“Establishing the JTF to assist police at the grassroots and sustaining them to stay on the course has resulted in the relative peace we’re beholding in the town presently”.

He urged the chairman to proceed in enhancing his security platform more as a tool to attract development to the LCDA.

The well-received and applauded event also featured a marching parade by the security agency plus the presentation of training certificates to 53 trained personnel.
