Executive Chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku Local Council Development Area, Bldr. Olusesan Daini and the legislative arm of the council recently organised a public hearing on a harmonization bill of the Local Security Joint Task Force.

Held on July 27, 2023, at the Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali Multipurpose Hall in Igbogbo, the public hearing was an opportunity for stakeholders to provide feedback on the bill and make suggestions for improvement.

Billed to consolidate the efforts of the various security agencies in the area to improve the security situation, The Chairman, during the hearing, explained that he and his team are committed to ensuring the safety and security of the residents of the area.

The event was well-attended as various stakeholders, including traditional rulers, community leaders, and representatives of various interest groups made their presence felt, as the public hearing was an opportunity for stakeholders to contribute to the development of the bill and ensure that it reflects the needs of the community.

According to the Bldr. Daini, the Local Security Joint Task Force was created to address the security challenges in Igbogbo Baiyeku Local Council Development Area, and the harmonization bill, once passed is aimed to streamline the activities of the task force and ensure that there is no duplication of efforts.

Explaining that every feedback received during the public hearing will be used to improve the bill before it is passed into law, the Chairman of the council, bldr. Daini expressed his appreciation to the stakeholders for their participation and assured them that their feedback would be taken into consideration.

The Local Security Joint Task Force was established in response to the rising cases of crime in the area, including kidnapping, robbery, and cultism.

Since its inception, the task force has been working to improve the security situation in the area through various initiatives, including community policing and intelligence gathering.

The harmonization bill is expected to provide a legal framework for the activities of the task force and ensure that there is accountability in the use of resources.
