Among the rigorous strides made by the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, Bldr Olusesan Daini on the 28th of July 2023, was the foundation laying of a 6-classroom block for Oreta primary school.
The council boss touched down at the aged school in the early hours of the day chaperoned by his council officials to deliver one of his highlighted campaign promises towards enhancing the educational sector.
Trying to take advantage of the long academic calendar break, Bldr Daini explained to Ikorodu News Network (INN) that the new edifice (of 6 classrooms) will be built in the space of 8 weeks before school resumption.
He explains that “Laying this foundation is an inkling that we’ve heeded the sobs of residents, including the students and teachers of this great school, and we’re fixing to procure the upgrade it requires”.
“From today, our workers in charge of this project will be functioning day and night to ensure that come September during school resumption, students will be walking into brand new classrooms”.
The chairman added that the 6 classrooms, when built will also be fully furnished to make the edifice conducive for learning.
Without wasting time, Bldr Daini departed the school after laying the foundation and headed to Oreta health centre, where he also laid a foundation block to construct a security post for the medical layout.
According to the Executive Chairman, the health centre was facilitated by the SDG federal government, but the council came to ensure that all other aspects of the PHC are in good shape.
He said, “I am laying the foundation block for us to build a security post for the health centre, in a bid to secure the various valuable equipment to be used during procedures”.
“In addition, we’re going to procure a borehole for the medical centre because the building is seated on good soil”.
“During my campaign, two requests were presented to us by the people of Oreta, which are primary school and health centre, and today we’re happy to bring their request to reality” Bldr Daini asserted
