The 2023 Ipakodo Day celebration reached its crescendo on the 7th of October 2023 in a grand finale that also marked the 5th coronation anniversary of the esteemed royal majesty, Oba Aremu Shotonwa, the Sekumade of Ipakodo.
The event, which took place at the Ebute-Ferry Terminal, was a dazzling display of glitz, glamour, and the rich cultural heritage of Ipakodo.
The atmosphere was vibrant as residents and special guests donned colorful purple Ankara attire to honor the occasion.
Welcoming the attendees, Dr. Bolaji Adeniji, the chairman of the joint planning committee, expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the weeklong celebration a resounding success.
The Chairman of the occasion, Rep. Babajimi Benson MHR, proudly declared his heritage, confirming that he is a prince of Ipakodo and a true son of the soil.
In his address, he recounted the various development projects he had spearheaded within the Ikorodu West LCDA, showcasing his commitment to the community.
He also extended his appreciation to the traditional institution for elevating the cultural heritage of Ipakodo to a global stage.
His Royal Majesty, Oba Aremu Shotonwa, delivered an inspiring speech, congratulating the sons and daughters of Ipakodo for once again making history together.
He expressed gratitude to the visiting guests who had come to join in the celebration of this momentous occasion.
Oba Aremu Shotonwa then unveiled his legacy project, a pavilion to be constructed within his palace, showcasing the blueprint for all to see.
Generous donations poured in as attendees pledged their support for this significant project.
The highlight of the evening was the electrifying performance by Fuji star, Suleiman Adio Atawewe, who left a lasting impression on all special guests in attendance.
His energetic and stage performance brought the grand finale to a memorable close.

Former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, Chief Asipa Kaoli, Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture, Abisola Ruth Olusanya, Special Adviser to the Lagos Governor on Rural Development, Dr Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, represented by Dr. Saheed Ibikunle, Hon.
