Representative Babajimi Benson MHR, announced on Saturday, October 7th, 2023, that the recently completed Akin Ogunlewe road will soon be equipped with street lights.
This announcement was made during his inspection of the road, signalling a major step towards improving safety and accessibility in the area.
The Akin Ogunlewe road project, which has been a long-awaited infrastructure upgrade for the community, was completed in the 3rd quarter of 2023.
However, the absence of adequate street lighting has prompted the federal lawmaker to do more for the community to make nighttime safe for the neighbourhood.
During his inspection, Rep. Babajimi Benson expressed his commitment to addressing this issue promptly. He stated, “The completion of the Akin Ogunlewe road is a milestone for our community, but we recognize the importance of safety, especially during the night”.
“To ensure the safety and convenience of our residents, I am pleased to announce that we will be installing street lights along this road within the next two weeks.”
The addition of street lights to the Akin Ogunlewe road is expected to enhance visibility and security for all road users, making it safer to travel at night. This development aligns with the government’s efforts to improve infrastructure and safety across Lagos State.
