Bldr Sesan Daini, the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, has proudly announced that the newly commissioned immigration office in Igbogbo is the first to be established in the entire Lagos East.
Speaking to Ikorodu News Network (INN) prior to the office commissioning, the chairman emphasized that the office is a pivotal step towards bringing immigration services closer to the people.
Crediting Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the current Minister of Interior, for streamlining the process of acquiring immigration cards, Bldr Daini explained that the new office will make possessing passports simpler and more accessible to residents.
He further expressed confidence that the new office would contribute to the economic development of the region, distinguishing it as the first of its kind in Lagos East.
Highlighting the significance of the location, Deputy Controller Muyiwa Odunubi, Passport Control Officer of the immigration office in Igbogbo, extended gratitude to Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, for providing the land for the establishment.
Odunubi also commended Chairman Daini for ensuring that the construction of the structure was done with ease, making it potential service point a reality.
Odunubi urged residents to cooperate with the immigration office, emphasizing that their collaboration is essential for accessing quality services.
The Passport Control Officer emphasized that the new office aims to simplify processes and minimize the challenges associated with acquiring passports, in contrast to the perceived cumbersome procedures at other immigration offices in different areas.
The commissioning of the immigration office dated Friday the 1st of December 2023 by Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior, stands as a positive development, reflecting the commitment of local authorities to enhance public services and contribute to the overall well-being of the people in Ikorodu division.
