Following a thorough inspection of the Centre for Rural Development (CERUD) in Igbodu Area EPE on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024, the Office of Rural Development is pleased to announce the commencement of an ambitious research initiative designed to unlock the full potential of the center.

The ongoing plan, set in motion since last year, is now unfolding with a dedicated six-month scale, meticulously measuring the transformative impact on the center.

Identifying a spectrum of opportunities, ranging from vegetation to cassava and yam cultivation, signifies a commitment to diversifying activities within the centre.

In anticipation of the imminent rainy season, significant land space is being cleared to pave the way for research on planting, with a specific focus on asserting the fertility of the land.

The commitment of the Office of Rural Development extends to identifying and addressing any challenges that may confront the center, with a firm resolve to incorporate improvements as the progress initiative.

Upon the successful completion of the six-month transformation, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, plans to extend a warm invitation to Mr. Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.

The invitation is aimed at providing a firsthand view of the centre’s evolution and engaging in discussions regarding potential further upgrades.

According to Dr Agbaje, the ultimate goal remains to harness the full potential of CERUD for the greater good of rural development in Lagos State.
